Wedding Help me pick a dress!

..sorry I posted before reading the last page and seeing the final pictures....

#1 is still def. my favorite, with #3 being my second choice.... I think you should consider some different styles as I think the strapless emphasizes your bust and makes you look shorter... whereas the shoulder straps elongate you...

I wouldn''t trust the kleenex... lace would look completely different... it would be slightly sheer so you could still see the neckline of the dress.... and the lace would add some gorgeous texture and add a bit of a whimsical feel to that sophisticated, elegant dress!

Oh my goodness... you have picked such stunning dresses! And you look fab in ALL of them. Of the first group you posted I like #1 and #3... I guess you really have to just decide which style you like better because they both look amazing on you. I don't care for the fabric insert in the first dress... it draws the focus right there. Can the designer adjust the top of the dress for you to cover the cleavage a bit more?

I would definitely try on the JH dresses. They look beautiful and I'm sure you'd look stunning in either of those. You have a figure to die for!! Lucky girl!

Wow you girls have great tips! It''s true the lace insert may look a lot better than the kleenex hehehe...

I will keep looking but #1 and #3 are most def. in the running!

The more I read everyone''s post the more I think I like #1 :)

One all the way.

To be blunt, your cleavage is large for your body (lovely, but large) and anything strapless with an empire waist is going to make them look a LOT bigger and you a lot shorter, as is the case with 2 and 3. If you do decide to keep looking, I urge to look at things where there is not a decoration difference right under the breasts and for something with straps which create a longer, more elegant line. You have the perfect figure and you owe it to yourself to do it justice.

As a former seamstress, I can tell you a simple, cheap way to solve the cleavage problem; have a lace panel sewn in for the bottom few inches of the ''v''. You get the amazing dress, the romance of lace and a little more modesty

I am suprised what you said about pronovias because they use really good silk, better than most companies, including casablanca.

I was trying to think of a way to say this but just could not get it right without sounding tacky talking about someone''s boobs! I think #3 is lovely, but for the reasons mentioned above, I think #1 is even more flattering. It shows the proportion off much better and lengthens your waist compared to the strapless options. I also think you should stay away from the deep sweetheart necklines if you are looking to keep your boobs out of your dad''s eyesight

hahaah point taken. No more deep sweetheart necklines... What do you guys think about this Jim Hjelm? It''s similar to the Pronovias but with more lace detail (also probably twice the price... dope!)

Oh, I
30.gif
this one too! You definitely need to try this on. This one and the first dress you posted are my favourites.

I think that dress is gorgeous but would be just as revealing as the other. I''d love to see it on you. For me, the Pronovias looks a little more comfortable because the drapey/gathered silk look can hide small figure imperfections. But my figure needs a lot more camoflauge than yours, so take that for what it''s worth.

#1 looks amazing on you, and #3 is my second choice. Your figure is gorgeous!

I''m loving number one. But as someone with a plunge neck gown... I think you''d be more comfortable in number three. You have an amazign figure, and I think you should definitely try on ANY gowns you like if you don''t have that "IT" feeling. The JH''s should look amazing on you!

Hi Guys,

I had tried on one more dress that I didn't include in the previous photos cause originally I didn't like it that much (it was quite a bit heavier) but now that I see the photos it's pretty nice.... It was SUPER CRINKLED though cause it was brand new (right out of the bad) and I don't even remember the make :|

What you think???

Which gorgeous dress to wear when you have a drop-dead fabulous figure.?!

I like all of them, but truthfully, you could wear a burlap bag and look georgeous!

Not much help, sorry...

thanks for everyone''s advice!

Although some of you may think I have a great figure this boob issue and stretch marks on my boobs make it super hard to find a wedding dress that I don''t feel self-conscious in... you can''t really see my stretch marks well in the pictures but they are very visible in real life and will be visible in professional pics... for some reason EVERY wedding dress I tried on showed my stretch marks....

Someone at the bridal shop suggested MakeupFX or some crap that stays put but I am super paranoid it would never match my skin and would look splotchy...

I personally love #1 but I felt more comfortable in #3. I think I will keep looking for now. I also want to wait until my mom sees some on me (she is on vacation now) so I can get her input. All my friends so far have given me different opinions. My best friend loves #3, but my other girl friends and my mom-in-law to be said #1.

Oh I''m really loving the new one too! It has the simplicty I loved about the first one, but the neckline of the third. I really like it! But you said it was heavier and you didn''t like it in person, so I''m not sure its the right gown for you. You would definitely need to try it on a second time and see what you think.

Regarding stretch marks-- are you sure they''d show up in professional pics? If they bother you that much discuss it with your photographer and ask them about airbrushing them out or something.

welllllll i emailed my parents and the verdict is in!

they lovvvvvvvved #1 (Pronovias)!!! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am so happy. hehehehe. I think I may just get it next week - with the lace veil too :)

Yayayayayaya, because that one really is gorgeous on you!! Even with kleenex!!
2.gif

I vote for number 1. It looks perfect on you!

I dont care for #2 on you

I like number 3 but i do not think it does your curves as much justice as #1

#1 fits you like a dream and I don''t think it reads "cleavage", it reads sophistication. All the strapless dresses read "boobs" to me
6.gif

If you think it''s too much cleavage I agree with a touch of lace, however I wasn''t thinking of it as a triangular filler panel, I was thinking of some very delicate sheer lace that followed the v on both sides. More like trim. Too me, it''s perfect without but I''m not daddy

Glad your parents liked the Pronovias! However, I would REALLY suggest going to more than one store to try on gowns. You mentioned in your fist post that this was your very first time trying on dresses. You have barely scratched the surface of gowns that are out there. Why not give yourself the opportunity to try on a few more? That Pronovias gown isn't going anywhere- you'll still be able to order it a month or two from now if it turns out it IS the one.

The fact that you mentioned in one of your posts that you didn't really like the quality of the Pronovias fabric is something I'd be concerned about. If ever you should treat yourself to nice fabric it's on your wedding gown! You also don't sound completely sold on the lace "insert" in the front, and earlier today you mentioned that you didn't feel 100% comfortable in the Pronovias (said you felt more comfy in dress #3). To me, all these things together just don't make it sound like "the one." You shouldn't settle on the details of your gown- you should love every aspect of it! Why not go out and see if you can find a similar dress that is made of better quality fabric? Go try on that Jim Hjelm that you posted. Or, here's a Casablanca gown that looks really similar to the Pronovias gown. Perhaps you'd like the fabric better on the Casablanca (and looks like the Casablanca may have more room in the chest area as well...)

So many woman second guess their wedding gowns (and become two or three dress brides that have to go through the hassle of trying to sell a gown). I fear that if you buy a gown so quickly and after only having tried on a handful that down the road you'll see a style/cut/fabric you love even more and be kicking yourself that you didn't try on more gowns before buying. Besides, going to bridal salons and trying on dresses is so fun! Why deprive yourself of the opportunity to go try on more pretty white dresses while you have an excuse to?! I know you are excited about the Pronovias, but just make sure there really AREN'T any other gowns out there for you before you order.

Everything you said makes total sense. I think I will go to a couple more stores.. You are right I only have one time in my life to try on dresses so I might as well take advantage and enjoy the moment! I will look into that Casablanca- it looks beautiful! Thank you!

I don''t think you can go wrong here--you would look good in any of the choices. However, I think number 1 is the most flattering. It really emphasizes your hourglass figure and gives a much more sophisticated silhouette. I also don''t think conservative relatives would freak out any more about dress 1 than dress 3. Many people consider strapless to be very risque.
Ditto! I love number 1 on you and think it is elegant, flattering, and GORGEOUS on you. Not too sexy, but makes you look amazing. Love it!

I love number 1 on you! It looks very classy! I''m glad your parents love it.

I second going to more stores to look just in case. As one of many two dress brides on here, it really is a VERY good idea. I like number one on you, but with your gorgeous figure I have a sneaking suspicion that there just might be something even better out there for you. If you have the time, I wouldn''t rush into a dress decision. You are going to be a beautiful bride, so I say take time and enjoy the process! :)

You guys are all very sweet - thanks for everyone''s advice. I may put off going to more stores until I am back in my hometown at the end of August so I can share the experience with some of my best friends and mommy... heheh. I am just so impatient and goal driven generally speaking so I am the type of person who rather get the dress the first time around then go to many places - but I think this is a time in my life where I need to slow down and just enjoy the moment...

Pronovias (#1) is still my #1 choice but I am going to keep looking just incase I find something even more perfect. There was also one more dress by Paloma I wanted to post. It wasn''t one of my original favorites but my parents also really liked this one so I thought I would share.

this one - another paloma... my parents and fiance's parents also said they loved this one... the bow on the side can be removed.

Dress 3 gets my vote.

It''s gorgeous on you...also, I would think about the cleavage situation especially if part of your family might think it''s a bit much.

I also vote for number one, BUT DEFINITELY TRY ON MORE! You have more than enough opinions on the dress, but I wanted to make a quick comment on the totally beautiful veil you''re wearing with dress one (I it may be pic 4?). I LOVE IT on you. It''s just sooo beautiful and romantic. And it looks amazing paired with that dress. I could just go on and on, I really love that veil and dress combination
