Hi everyone!

As a follow-up to Peony''s infant carseat thread, I thought I would ask your advice for the convertible carseats as well.

My son is 10 months now (how did THAT happen?), and we moved him into his Britax about a month ago, which I love. However, it is huge and somewhat hard (for us anyway!) to install. I have 2 different sitters for him who sometimes need to drive him around. They can''t really KEEP a carseat installed in their cars, nor do I want to buy 2 more Britaxes (is that how you spell the pleural??

). We currently are still using our SnugRide (which I have loved) for them, because it can pretty easily be belted in and changed between cars...

Does anyone know of a SAFE convertible seat that is lighter than the Britax and can more easily be switched from one car to another?? I also think something like this would be really useful for travel. I have looked a little bit into the Radian 360, but I think it''s still pretty darn heavy....

TIA!!!

Well I don''t know if it''s lighter but we have the Maxi Cosi Priori seats and they are very easy to install and take out IMO...and very safe.

+1. Absolutely LOVE my Maxi Cosi Priori seats. My 2 year old and my 11 month old each have one and they are great, safe, easy to install and nice looking.

no help here, but anxious to hear what you decide. What britax do you currently have? I''m still clinging to the snug ride (our LO is also 10 months, almost 11), but I know the time is limited. Maybe we''ll use it for grandmas car a bit longer. Right now I am torn between Britax Roundabout (50?), Marathon and Maxi Cosi Priori. Leaning towards the latter (Maxi Cosi) right now but can''t quite bite the bullet..

albee baby has the priori on closeout for $139 ;)

If it helps, Janine, we bought Britax Marathon seats.

Yes-this is what we bought but we bought the Night Owl color which is even $10 cheaper! Brand new, new manufacture date, and great price. Came quickly too.

janine we got the roundabout because our car is smaller. love it!!

thanks for the input guys! i will check out the maxi cosi.

has anyone ever heard of or tried the radian brand?? they get pretty good reviews and seem to fold nicely for travel. http://www.skjp.com/product/97556/185XX/_/Radian80

janine, we got the marathon and so far it''s great. coby seems pretty happy in there, too.

thanks again everyone.

We have an Evenflo Symphony for my car (main place DS rides) and a Britax Roundabout for a "spare". Both are easy to use, especially with LATCH and the Evenflo is a convertible seat that has a booster that will hold 100lbs

My son is a big boy (~28lbs and 32" at 13 months) so the Evenflo has worked beautifully since he outgrew his "bucket" seat early. We also just turned him forward facing today

SO BIG!
