After weeks of looking in stores and on Blue Nile I'm looking to buy a ring today or tomorrow. I think I've narrowed it down to the following 3 options:

0.66 ct: Ideal Cut, I color, eye clean SI2 at 5.58 x 5.59 x 3.47 mm

0.60 ct: Ideal-cut, I-color and VS2-clarity at 5.51 x 5.48 x 3.27 mm with a strong Fluorescence

or upgrade the first option for $170 more to a H COLOR 0.66 ct: Ideal Cut, SI2 at 5.58 x 5.60 x 3.43 mm?

The first 2 are GIA graded, and this last H Color is AGS certified. Appreciate any help you guys can give and am open to new suggestions/links!

I guess what it really boils down to is will anyone notice the 0.10mm difference in diameter size and will the strong Fluorescence be an issue? I realize I should probably buy today as opposed to tomorrow.

Also, the GIA report says that the 0.66 SI2 has twinning wisp and feather listed in the characteristics. The Blue Nile Rep told me the stone was eye clean.

what is your budget?

With the setting around $1700, which is what both of these costs around. The 0.66 is about $70 more. I guess my big thing is how much of a size difference vs clarity am I getting? I was leaning towards the 0.60 ct but then I started thinking "well then that isn't THAT much more than 0.5 ct..." and plus I started thinking "well 0.66 is reeeaaaally close to saying its 3/4 ct lol."

I'm actually looking to buy within the next 30 minutes so any and all opinions would be GREATLY appreciated! Even if its an "either one" opinion.

If they all have HCA scores < 2.0, I'd get the one with strong fluorescence because I like that effect. I'm a little wary of buying SI2 diamonds without seeing at least a picture.

The numbers on the 0.66 are better as is the HCA score.

Forgive my ignorance but what does that mean and I could not find the HCA score?

Plug in the numbers from the certs into here: https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca

You want the diamond to have a HCA score under 2.0. The 0.66 scores under 2.0 and the 0.60 scores above a 2.0.

Thanks guys! After I plugged in the numbers it was a no-brainer, thanks again so much! I went with the 0.66 ct, I'll post pics once it comes in!

Thanks! It's night and I don't have much lighting in my apartment so its hard to tell if its cloudy or not, definitely eye clean like they said and damn near perfect proportions. Gotta wait till the girlfriend leaves after this weekend to see it in some sunlight.

If it's eye clean then I think you did really well! Come back with hand shots once you pop the question. :)

Thanks! So I've read on the forum that the diamond looking a little 'dark' at certain times under direct sunlight is normal, is this true?
