Greetings!
Please offer up your opinions on this ring. What type of cut is this? I'll attach the Gia report. Also interested in opinions on the quality (I have asked for more photos and videos and I'm waiting for them) but before I get excited, can you tell from the photo or Gia report if the cut is going to be good ? I'm considering buying it but I don't know what a fair price would be. They are asking 21k. 88460126-E706-48F8-823F-510A1398B3E9.jpeg

Interesting cut as certainly not the standard Old Mine. And WOW an E!

Can't wait to hear from the members that can teach us both.

An elongated OMB... interesting appearance.
Looks like a mixed cut but it also looks like it's got some serious windowing, if that's the hand models finger visible under the table.

Are you planning to cup the stone due to the depth?

Btw, conventional 1.50 E/SI1-VS2 cushion cuts are around $10k on Blue Nile.

You'll have to educate me. What is cupping the stone ?

Do you follow Dolly on IG? She creates this "Dolly Cup" setting for shallow stones-similar to foil backing rose cuts but easier to clean.

The center stone you are considering looks like an Ashoka diamond-but is significantly more shallow. Askohas are usually over 60% depth. I think the shallow depth is causing the windowing that @DejaWiz mentioned. A mirror backed cup would enhance the stone.

It looks criss cut to me. It says poor symmetry and thin girdle. Does that bother you? Also a cavity on the edge.

Yeah hopefully one of the experts can weigh in on that cavity. From the threads I have read, they are best avoided. A cavity appearing as the first inclusion on the list of inclusions might be an issue.

That cavity is huge and extremely thin girdle… it’s a definite pass.

I actually find it charming, but would be worried about it in a 4 prong. The asymmetry would bother me most of all tbh

I do find it priced quite high as well. I don’t think I’d go over 16k-18k for this esp given the clarity issues others mentioned

But I do see why you’re drawn to it. I wouldn’t expect it to be an incredible performer, more of a novelty cut
