Hi. I''m new to the forum, and to diamonds. I just got my first loose diamond for our anniversary. It''s a triple EX 1.25ct hearts & arrows. According to the diamond certificate, the only "mark" on the diamond is a small pinpoint. We recently had the setting changed because the original one was too bulky. After that I bought a 10x jewelers loupe to get a closer look. Of course a new setting made the diamond look different. I just had this feeling to "check" to make sure it was still my diamond. I''m sure it is, the jeweler is very reputable, and a very high end store.
None the less, I pulled out my diamond certificate and located the pinpoint. The pinpoint is in the location from viewing it topside, but here is my question. Would that pinpoint inclusion be visable from the sides of the diamond? I''m not sure if I''m seeing more similar pinpoints, or if they are merely reflecting the one. I don''t have the measuring equipment to measure it so this is the only way I have to "ID" my diamond. I will be taking it back to have the head changed as I got it too high. I want to "know" my diamond before I do. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Dee
