Help me help my BIL again lol

Well he decided to wait and save up for a bigger budget. He still needs to sell the old set but buyers are slim in his hometown of about 60,000. So now he has about 3k he can spend on the ring. His SO would like a halo setting.

What do you guys think of this diamond?

It would leave him about 1k in his budget for a setting and wedding band. Dunno if he can get a halo for that amount but might be possible.

Great stone. Can''t go wrong with it. The 1k left for a halo and wedding band? Not sure if it''s doable. If he gets a plain 14k band for around 150 that would leave him with 850 for a halo. You can try going local and seeing if they have anything, but at that price point, i''d be worried about the quality of stones and workmanship. The last thing he''d want is a cheap halo with stones constantly falling out.

Ditto Elle, thats a great diamond, just make sure it is eyeclean to the buyer''s standards by checking with WF.

I''ll call WF and confirm that the stone is eyeclean. I was thinking about maybe talking him into the 6 prong Tiffany solitaire setting and if they want could upgrade the setting at a later date. I think it would look great with the 3mm scattered diamond wedding band, what do you guys think?

I really like those bezel bands too.

Does he know for a fact she wants a halo? If she does, a simple 6 prong probably won''t work. Maybe he can just get the stone and then they look for a setting together.

I am currently talking with Sheerah at Whiteflash about a couple of stones. My BIL had to substantially reduce his budget so the halo is definitely out of the question now. I think we''re going to go with a 0.65 carat stone so I''m wondering what''s the opinion on 6 prong vs 4 prong solitaire settings and smaller stones.
