Hi guys. I printed this picture off a couple of weeks ago and now I can''t find which thread it came from. I love the look of it and I''d like to know more about the size of the stones and the style of the setting. I''m thinking that I want to do something like this for an anniversary ring.
You could do this ring (or something similar) in so many different sizes. I've also seen it done with pear-shaped sidestones instead of round and I thought that was lovely as well. Good luck, and have fun looking!
Yes, sxn, I'm looking for a setting for my new diamond and I'm pretty sure that I want sapphires on the sides. I LOVE this Mark Morrell setting. I was thinking, though, that I want white gold instead of platinum.
I also like this D.Vatche setting. I'm not sure if I like the metal coming up on the sides like it does on the MM one or this style better. What do you all think?
Hi, Patty. I love the sapphire ring... can't wait to see the finished product!
As for the metal rising up to meet the stones vs not, it's a tough call. Can you go to a local store and try each type of ring on to see which you like better on your finger? The profile seems to be what will be most impacted by your choice.
I think I like it when the stones sit a bit higher and are not flush with the metal but it really is a tough call.
Sorry-no real help here! It's tough to choose from two very pretty things...Now if you had posted a picture of a hideous setting, it would have been a snap
Hi Jennifer! Yes, I have seen those at Superbcert's site. I don't care for the "fancy" curvy-looking setting. I think it's pretty for someone young but not for me.
Barry just let me know that Vatche makes their setting (above) in 18K white gold. That is looking really good to me.
It looks like the ring in this thread from DT:

I knew I recognized the photography; Jan and Brad take wonderful pictures. According to the post, the center diamond is "just a little under 1.00 ct. center with 4.5mm side sapphires". I'm in the process of putting together the pieces for this style of ring (although on a MUCH smaller scale). Hope this helps!
Spartan, that's it. Thank you! I think I'm going with two sapphires that total 1.52 carats. I don't know the measurements though. My center stone is 7.2 mms. I want fairly large side stones...not a lot smaller than the diamond.
