I'm looking for a round brilliant to go in this Tacori engagement ring.

There a few things I want.

Carat: 1.1-1.3
Color: D
Cut: Ideal H&A
Clarity VVS2-FL
Crown Angle: 34-34.8
Pavilion Angle: 40.6-40.8

I am currently torn on Table% and Depth%. For table and depth what is the super ideal range? I've seen 56-57% on table and 61-62.5% on depth but not sure I fully trust those figures. The HCA tool seems to like depth%'s in the 59-60 range.

My go to site at the moment is Whiteflash but I haven't found the "perfect" diamond for me there yet. Some have been really close though. I've also checked out Brian Gavin but didn't find anything. Are there any other comparable sites that I've missed? I've looked at James Allen and didn't find anything there.

EDIT: Just realized I put this in the wrong forum. If a mod sees this can you move it to RockyTalky =P

Here is a super ideal cut stone but as you can see, you are paying a high premium for a D color and VVS clarity. May I ask why you are looking for something with that color and clarity? You can get something in the F/G VS range for much less or in the alternative, get a larger diamond for the same money.

For example (this is a beautifully cut stone too!) https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3947658.htm?source=pricescope

I don't think I'll be needing a larger diamond. My girlfriend's ring finger is a size 5 and the 1.2 carat diamond we saw looked amazing. The 1.0 carat looked just ok. She's afraid anything larger than 1.3 will look too big on her finger.

I know I'm paying for features that aren't really visible to the naked eye. That being said I simply would prefer the most perfect diamond in the size range I'm looking at and I'm fine with paying a premium for it.

So what do you think about the first stone I linked? It is kissing 1.3 but believe me when I tell you that what looks huge today will shrink tomorrow! I think that size would be perfect on a size 5 finger!

Here is a smaller one though https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3935946.htm?source=pricescope

I have seen and do like that diamond a lot.

The measurements are .04 off from being round (7.02x7.06). I would prefer to see within .02 but I'm not sure how important this is. Then again, How important is going D color vs E or VVS over VS? To me it's very important. I just haven't solidified my position on the measurements yet =P

.04 is very acceptable in terms of diameter. The A Cut Above stones are strictly vetted and if this was not acceptable, it would have never made it into the ACA class. There is no perfect diamond - even a VVS1 diamond is only graded that way at 10x magnification. At 40x, you could see other things. With the eye, you will not see a difference between a D and an E and probably not between VVS and VS. That becomes a mind clean issue more than something that can actually be seen. Have you seen super ideal stones in person? Compared different colors, angles and measurements? My best advice is to keep an open mind and don't get off in the weeds about a particular angle unless you have seen and verified in person that it is that meaningful to you. It is all about how they play off of one another and there is lots to be learned in that area. If Whiteflash has a stone that you are interested in, call them and ask for a photo or video of the stone. They are extremely friendly and helpful!

I think the OP's stone has to be to those specks for 'mind cleaners'. We all have different criteria for that.
Hope you find that perfect stone. I would suggest you also look at High Performance Diamonds and Good Old Gold.

Auto correct to mind cleaners instead of mind clean. Too funny. That Whiteflash stone is awesome.
