Totally minor issue but it’s driving me crazy!

Over the holidays I was reaching for, but not finding my lovely aquamarine earrings. I so wanted to wear them! DH gave them to me for my 40th and they are so pretty, ovals with diamond halos.

I have a terrible habit of hiding pieces of jewellery around the house, I must have put them somewhere “safe” then forgotten about them.

Anyone out there possessed of psychic powers, or able to send Finding Vibes across the Atlantic for me?? Help!

:pray::doh::confused:

@Snowdrop13 sending you bucketloads of finding dust!

I just know those aquamarine earrings are going to show up and when they do pics pretty please.:appl:

I don't have psychic powers, but I have thee power of misplacing my earrings all the time. Check all your purses and the little purse pockets. I tend to strip myself of jewelry in the car on the way home from parties, and zip them in purse pockets for "safe-keeping",

Back of closet? under a pile of mail?

Aww Missy, thank you, so sweet! I’m really hoping the power of positive thinking is going to make them turn up! Not sure they are PS quality but if I get them back I’ll be posting pics for sure. X

:D I have done this too- my husband recently “lost” his lovely new fountain pen, several weeks after this I found it in a zipped pocket in my handbag, I had taken it from him for “safe-keeping” also! He wasn’t best pleased!

I think I may have put them in a coat pocket, I’m off to search the cupboard......

If you find them hopefully a green tourmeline I bought from @mochiko42 is missing, I put it somewhere and I cannot find it.. I do the run around EVERYWHERE here but have yet to find it.. Good luck! and sorry

Oh no! Trouble is all these jewellery things are so small, aren’t they? I shall keep my fingers crossed for your lovely stone’s reappearance!

Whatever you do, don't throw anything away without checking every nook & cranny until the earrings show up again. My sister's diamond stud came loose when she was trying on clothes, so she took both off and put it in her purse for safekeeping. Weeks later, she completely forgot about the earrings and threw away the purse because it had seen better days. :wall:

I tend to 'hide' jewelry either in a clothing pocket or purse pocket. Valuable stuff I tend to put in a purse pocket or perhaps my cosmetic bag in my purse. I guess it depends on how YOUR brain works--lol.
Thankfully I don't do anything nutty like putting it in the cheese drawer or freezer.

And do you remember when you wore them last? Did you wear them to an event with an evening purse?

Also be sure to check your jewelry cleaner if you have one... my original wedding band went missing over the holidays and I was on the verge of freaking out as I am very sentimental about it, only to realize that I had submerged it in the Connoisseurs jewelry cleaner bucket a few days earlier. Sending you dust and lots of positive thoughts!

I had a spare pair of glasses somewhere. Ever since I fell on December 23 and badly scratched the lenses on my current pair, the spare pair has not shown up. I have to admit to doing only a cursory search. I know they will turn up one day. In the meantime it is completely impossible for me to see out of the right lens of my glasses. The left lens has only three interesting scratches on it. I am wondering when my new pair will be ready. I was in the shop on Christmas Eve before they closed!

I suggest you walk around the house, looking at different places (e.g. your shoes, your sock drawer, boxes of personal care products, swabs, etc.) and each time ask yourself, "Have I ever hidden anything there? Have I ever considered hiding anything there?" If the answer is "yes", empty out the contents onto your bed or table. In my experience it is not enough to just look through a container, purse, etc.-- I have to actually empty out the contents and look through them. It's easy to miss seeing small items otherwise.
Keep a list of places you have searched so you don't repeat or miss any.

One thing I began doing a couple of years ago is keeping a document on my computer listing where things are. Any changes in the location of important items gets added to the list.

I hid a pendant from myself and found it about 2 years later! It was in a very small pouch, jammed at the back of my safe. I was so happy to have found it as I gave up.

I've done this more than once. One time, I had stuck a box with several pieces into a bag on the floor of the guest room closet. Another time, I did a similar thing, but the bag was in a storage closet in the basement (House was up for sale and I think that bag went down there in the interest of decluttering the bedroom. ) The most recent, and to me craziest, I had stuck a little pouch with, among other things, my diamond necklace, in a bag of vacuum attachments. Each time, my pretties were missing for over a year!

I now have a safe in my closet

I hope you find them. :wavey:

Oh no, that is very bad luck, so easy to forget things, though, especially if they’re not worn every day.

I’m pretty sure it was before the summer, I have been retracing my steps before we went on holiday in June and I’m sure I “hid” them at that point.

They’re not in my ultrasonic, although that’s a brilliant suggestion! Hope your ring was ok after being in the cleaner all that time, bet it was sparkly shiny though!

They will turn up, these things always do and when you least expect it. Hope you get the new specs soon, nothing worse than not being able to see properly! I’m very short sighted so can understand the frustration!

Such good news, it’s like getting new jewellery!

This sounds like a plan that I may have to follow..........!

Well, this is more or less what I did yesterday afternoon, and guess what, I found them! Yippee!

They were in a drawer of DH’s shirts, right in the middle. I’d already searched in there but clearly not thoroughly enough. Thank goodness.

Anyway, because of all of this I have cleared out several drawers (who needs 20 pairs of black tights...?), tidied one cupboard, made a big pile to send to charity, collected all my jewellery together and made an inventory and bought a new Stackers jewellery box. I’m making it my New Year’s resolution to wear and rotate everything regularly, I’m not getting any younger and have no daughters, these things are gonna get used!

Thank you so much all for your positive wishes, I’m sure it has helped me in my search. Here is a very blurry iPad photo, they are small but very pretty on and the aquas are quite a nice blue!
