I have my 10 stone RHR and I want to flank it with 2 eternity rings but not break the bank. I tried on 2 eternity rings in a store and loved that 3 band look with the 10 stone flanked. The ones I tried it on with were probably about 2mm each. The RHR is I/J SI2 type stones and I bought it for ~$250 on eBay.

So since this is an eBay 10 stone, I want to stay cheap. aka no more than around $250 each ring and even less if possible. Nothing like SP quality.

I am eyeing up two rings on eBay. One is $119 and is .30c and I SI stones. The other is $240 and .35-.40 and G VS stones.

I am leaning a bit more towards the $240 G VS because even if it's H SI then I'm still happy. These are melee so I just want them to sparkle. I also don't want the two new rings to make the 10 stone look yellow. When I put the 10 stone next to my wedding/ering bands, you can see a slight amount of color difference. The RHR has 10 pointers and they are not super well cut but they sparkly decently.

The RHR is probably about 3mm wide. I wanted something more like 2mm each on either side which is the $119 rings, but the $240 ones are 2.5mm.

I'm a little shy of the $119 because they only guarantee if a written appraisal comes back at J / I1 which is a pain...but they are 1/2 price the other ones.
I think I may be able to get the $240 ones down to more like $210 each (they sold them for that previously and did not sell) esp if I buy two.

Anyway I'll post some images...but I'd love to hear what PS'ers think and also if there are any other recommendations on similar items. I think Fortunoff and Ross Simons both have something similar but I am unsure re: quality? I will dig up those links and images as well.

Bottom line is I want two thin rings that will sparkle and give my RHR 10 stone a more completed blingy look!! Can you guys please help?!

Here''s an old pic of the 10 stone on my weird pale looking hand.

Here''s the I SI $119 ring. It looks thin like I want it but is it just me or do the diamonds seem grayish?

i si ebay eternity ring.jpg

and here is the G VS $240 ring. Looks wider but much brighter?

g vs eternity ring.jpg

And a Ross Simons .35-.40ctw I/J SI2 which is actually on sale for $160 today...normally $200. This seems promising? At least I know I could return it with no issues? Oh it says 1/16" wide. How does that translate to mm?

and Fortunoff''s .22ctw H SI2 half-eternity for $250. I don''t love this one because it''s not eternity and it''s expensive compared to the other eternity styles. It already irritates me when the 10 stone spins and I am hoping that 2 eternity rings would help stop that. So having 3 that spin would drive me nuts!

Mara the G VS does look brighter, but won''t it be too thick? (two of those against ur RHR?)

I am trying to figure this website i used to visit who had some amazing deals on their diamond jewelery! let me look for it and ill be rite back =)

ooh! u must have posted the other images while i was typing up my response..the Ross Simons does look promising! and its a very good price too...i wonder what that is in mm too?

Ok here is a random shot I took on my left hand a few minutes ago with my w-ring and e-ring (stone turned in) flanking the 10 stone.

So the w-ring is on the bottom then the 10 stone and then the e-ring is on top. My w-ring is 2.3mm and the e-ring is 2.8mm.

Thoughts? It looks pretty wide like this eh? Too wide I wonder? Maybe I should stick with 2mm widths.

I kind of like the Ross Simons one but does it seem like it looks like the eBay $119 one? Wonder if it will look grey too.

I would definitely stick with a company where you can return the ring if necessary -- especially with an eternity ring. What if they don''t fit quite right? I would think you would want the flexibilty to send em back.

actually, my personal thoughts is that ur wedding ring (2.8mm) looks nicer with the RHR...it looks more balanced, but would give you a ''bigger'' look...the ebay one does look nice, im just wondering how would the miligrain (sp?) look against ur RHR...

doesn''t the ebay store u got ur RHR have a new selection that u can perhaps buy from?

Oh it looks like the conversion of 1/16 to mm is 1.5mm. So that RS one is pretty thin it seems?

The Fortunoff one is 1/8 which is about 3mm! WOW. Too thick.

msb..funny you say that the 2.8 looks better because i thought that the 2.3mm wedding ring looked better and showcased the 10 stone more. hmm hmm.

i bought my 10 stone like 2 years ago, so i don't even remember who i bought it from! or wait maybe i do. i have to see if they are even around.

oooh my mulan please let me know on those thin eternity bands! Can you find out what the clarity/color is of them and ctw?

another closer look. I''ll be bringing my better camera this weekend to the jeweler. I hope to take better pics. ;)

The price on this ring is $160... haha.. not too bad, huh?

Oooh that is very pretty!!! Now I am REALLY intrigued!
31.gif

that *is* a very nice ring at an amazing deal!!

Mymulan: where is this jewler? do they have an online website?

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, TOO MANY choices so early in the morning... my head''s gonna ''SPLODE!!!

Wow! Another fun project, Mara -- my, you are ALWAYS thinkin'' !!!

Well, I think it''s a great idea and a great look, and I vote for the Ross Simons ones. They look lovely, and VERY thin. Plus, like Dem said, they''re easily returnable if they aren''t perfect. (And they''d look really cute on their own, too, just the two of them stacked adorably on your finger!)

See - I''m always THINKIN'', too!

I''ve been looking for one too..and it drives me up the wall when you click on one on ebay and the mini description says 18k gold, DIAMOND eternity ring and when you click on it it gives the REAL description of it. Plated and CZ. They may as well say "Fooled you! It''s really 18k over silver and those diamonds...glass!"
38.gif

But anyway..back on topic. I know you don''t really like the one from FortuneOff because it isn''t a full eternity but it closely matches your current eternity band closer than the first few posted. I, personally, like that look the best but in a full eternity.

Just wanted to chime in quickly on Ross Simon. I have a pair of diamond earrings and have had an aqua/diamond ring. In my experience, the quality of the diamonds is very average. Even the saleman called them commercial grade. Luckily, they do have a nice return policy so if you go the RS route and don''t care for them, I think it''s pretty easy to return them.

I like that one! Very different!

Mara, why not go custom???
There is nothing like knowing a ring was made specifically for you.

Ooh, Mara, what a fun project!! I definitely agree that the rings should be thinner, such as your wedding ring (2.3 mm). That will definitely showcase the 10-stone. I am leaning toward the Ross Simons ones because of the return policy but do you think the 1.5mm will be too thin? I think they'll be ok because you have long slender fingers and if the rings are too thick, they may make your fingers look chunky--which they are not at all!! Hmmm...maybe Ana can do some photoshop examples for you!

Good luck, Mara-I am sure you will dig up fabu rings at a fabu price!

I haven''t ordered from Ross Simons but my mom has and I have been impressed with the quality--melee is bright and firey.

Very interesting re: seeing color differenes in the melee when comapring your rings! Food for thought!

Gosh, everyone is so darn interested in color these days. What could be going on behind the scenes to prompt that??

Actually in real life viewing I don't see a real big difference in color, but one time we were in a church which sends all my diamonds to kablowie...I was trying on the 10 stone with my backwards e-ring and w-ring and saw a pronounced difference in the color sparkles. The 10 stone is a mediocre cut ring as well, so I'm sure it would show color more. Funny thing was BEFORE seeing them in the church I didn't feel like the color difference was all that pronounced, so it could be types of lighting that bright it out more etc. The 10 stone ring also has 10 pointers whereas my melee are 2 and 3 pointers in my other rings. So I am not shocked to see a bit of color hint in the 10 stone, mediocre cut larger stones IMO is a recipe for seeing more body color!

Oh and thanks for the info re: RS LS and Jenn...I am tempted to try them out just to see, and I know I could return them easily. Hmm.

Such an active imagination!

Since I had a melee situation of similar nature with a flower ring, I simply found it intersting that your obseravtions echoed mine.

Church, huh? Maybe GIA should add "viewing under the Light of God" to their color analysis conditions.

And yes-returns to RS are very easy.

No imagination necessary...

I was surprised at the church lighting, at A) how it showed color differences more readily and B) how bling bling it made everything. Definitely a blingage viewing requirement....

Leaning more and more towards RS. I even dreamed about eternity rings last nite (I think it was eating me or something gross).

Lmurden, I''d love to go custom but this is a cheapie fun job...this isn''t exactly a ''custom'' budget for anything but maybe some silver...hee hee.

Mara- is the G $240 one (in the green pix) from an ebay seller ps99 or something like that? Is it a hong kong seller? If yes, I bought from him and so did Nan. I actually contacted him for changes b/c I wanted larger stones...they were found to be F color, really nice. Nan bought that exact band I think and it''s really pretty and good quality

Yep mmm that''s him! I think it''s P''s Jewelry or something like that in Hong Kong. Also someone else PM''d me and said that she ordered something from him as well so I hope to hear how her purchase turned out. I wonder if they have smaller rings/stones?

I was confused by MSB's post because she says she likes your wedding ring better, but she listed the width of the e-ring?

I agree with you, Mara....the 2.3 looks better to me.
