Help me find another ring for Nanny

I am working with Bill Pearlman. It should be finished in 3 weeks or so. I did tell her about it. She was depressed and I spilled the beans. Now she can''t wait. I promise to post lots of pics. Bill Pearlman is just the nicest guy and has been a pleasure to work with. Thanks for asking. Her 95th birthday is in June. But will give it to her as soon as I recieve it. Poor thing feels naked without her ring. She is wearing her wedding band 24/7. She''ll have to do the same with the new one. The person that stole it, (we Think) is still working there. So we aren''t taking any chances with the new ring!!!

I''m glad she knows it''s coming. She''s an ''official LIW''!!!!! Can''t wait to hear about the look on her face when she sees it. I hope the person who took it is eaten up with guilt every minute of every day for the rest of their life or until they make things right with your Nanny. That punishment is more severe than jail or firing. Living with guilt is no picnic basket. You''re such a sweety Lisa.

It''s not about the $$/financial value!!

Thank you so much for all the kind words, diamondfan, Lorelei, MGR, Sundial, BeaudryBabe, and travelingal. I just got off the phone with Nanny. She is very excited about the ring and is counting the days till she gets it!! She doesn't understand why she is getting this. I did try to explain it, but she still doesn't get it. She doesn't understand what the internet is or what you do on a computer. I guess I will have to have another crack at it sometime soon, LOL!!!

I am obsessed with finding a way for her to understand PS, the community that I so enjoy being a part of. If it weren''t for PS,( Leonid and Irina) she wouldn''t be getting a new ring to replace the one that was stolen. When I did try to explain it, she said I don''t get it. Why would perfect strangers do this for me?? I said well, they are kind of doing it for me, but in turn doing something really nice and generous for you. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can explain it to her I''d be very grateful!!

Or is there a computer somewhere in the rest home that she could get to?

It might help if she could actually "see" the site in action, as well as these threads...

Sad but true. It took a couple of days for me to learn to ''turn it on right'' then to log on, I still click toooooo many times and end up with multiple whatevers

then I went another couple of weeks(or so) before learning to ''shut it down'' before turning it off. Don''t even get me started on digital cameras

And God forbid should someone tell me to answer their cell phone. It''s kinda nice her in the 15th century.

widget, brilliant idea. I have to go tomorrow to explain her bills to her. I will take my lap top and read her this thread, she''s pretty blind right now. Her nightgowns and wrappers cost $180 (4 of each) and she thinks the bill isn''t right. Oh give me strength. Plus I got them on sale, but she hasn''t been to a store in over 12 years. So has no idea what things cost. If I told her what gasoline costs, she''d think I was making it up!!!
