I'm looking for a solitare setting that tapers in thinner toward the diamond. Preferably in platinum, 4 prong for a round diamond and one that doesn't have the "X" mount for the diamond. Either designer or non-designer. Also the band needs to be pretty thin for a long small size 5 finger. I have seen a setting in a store, but not in platinum. I also will need help later in finding a .7-.9 carat ideal cut round diamond.

Thanks for the help

How about a pinched shank from Leon (made as a solitaire, rather than 3 stone)?
Hard to tell without seeing it in a solitaire I guess

How abuot this from Mark Morrell? mwmjewelry.com. He does amazingly perfect work. He could also tailor the shank to any size you want.

While you''re on the WF site, check out the Legato sleek line. I have that and it''s beautiful!!!

Does whiteflash have more photos hidden somewhere ? I want to compare those three lines but its hard to do with the 1 small and 1 enlarged photo of each line

I love the Mark Morrell one!!!!!!!!! The basket (?) is so elegant!!!

w605 - here is a thread with my ring in it for inspiration. Mine is just a simple round brilliant solitaire but it has 6 prongs not 4. It''s a knife-edge which tapers to the diamond.

If you want to talk through the differences, give Lesley at WF a call and ask her to describe how they differ from each other. I was going back and forth between the fine line and the legato sleek line, and the legato head won me over since it wasn''t the "typical" 4 prong head. The fine line has more of a basket/gallery under the stone. The regular sleek line is the more typical 4 prong where all the prongs come together in a point below the culet. And the legato sleek line adds that little "oomph" with the curvy lines. It''s a hard decision--they are all beautiful!

Oh, yes! The Legato Sleek Line:

I like the Mike Morrell (without the knife edge) but I have a feeling the expense and possible time wait? puts it out of the picture, I''m not too comfortable with not being able to return it either. It looks like I need to decide between the whiteflash settings
