Hello everyone! I am brand new here and would love some opinions on some ways to reset my e-ring! I have a 1.6 carat Radiant diamond and would like to add something to it but I really don''t know what. I want something that enhances my stone but doesn''t take away from it a bit! There are so many options out there that I don''t know where to start! You all have such beautiful rings and I would really appreciate any and all thoughts or opinions!

I have been thinking about one of two options:

1. Pave band with halo
2. Tapered baguettes

Yes, no maybe???

I was thinking maybe bullet side stones, or tapered baguettes. Or, perhaps trillion sides? Here are a few for thought...

What''s your jewelry personality?

Would you like your stone to look larger, or are you happy with the size?

What type of wedding band do you want?

What''s your budget?

What''s the size on your radiant, in mm''s?

What''s your lifestyle? Are you hard on your hands, do you have kids, do you garden, are you a nurse?

Give us a little more detail and welcome!

Here''s a few:

I like this one because it''s got some Deco going on, you can tell this is a really beautifully executed setting:

This one is my favorite for you because it''s got a lot of contrasts but it''s pulled together incredibly well:

http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/d8/6/AAAAAoSlmLYAAAAAANhgLw.jpg step cut trap sides and pave band with milgrain double claw prongs, and the radiant is similar in shape to yours.

http://www.jewellery.tv/images/garsiams/300/gar9000b.jpg classic. I almost think those baguettes are french cuts.

Hmmm... my jewelry personality... well I like very elegant and clean designs.

I am happy with the size of my diamond but... bigger is always ok too!!

I want two wedding bands, probably pave euro bands... I''m up for change here- just depends on what my e-ring ends up looking like!

My budget is pretty open- I don''t want to spend an arm and a leg but I will put up the moolah to get something that I will love!

Measurements are: 7.96x5.74x4.03mm, Depth of 70.2%, Table is 67%, Ideal cut, zero fluorescence.

No kiddos (just a dog) and desk job here- not hard on my hands at all!

Thanks for being so thorough- you don''t know how much I appreciate it!!!

Nice sized diamond. Doesn't really need a halo.

When you say your budget is open... do me a favor and ballpark it. It really does make a difference to know about how much you are thinking. That Trois ring I posted is around 9K (just for the setting) but Leon could do something similar for around 5K. Simple and elegant baguette side stone rings can be as inexpensive as 1K, or if you wanted something with a little more Oomph... we could suggest Leon and it might cost 2.5 to 3K.

Up to 10K?
Up to 5K?
Up to 2.5K?
Under 2.5K?

I''m really liking the tapered baguettes. I like the traps as well but my "sister-in-law-to-be" has an emerald with traps and I want to make sure we don''t end up with the same looking ring! Ha!

I have seen some radiants with halos that I like and some that I don''t. Definitely beginning to like the tapered baguettes- just wondering what bands work well with that?

You can do anything with bands. We''ve got so many different cool and unusual band combos on here... the sky is really the limit.

If your really into matched sets... then I''d try to get a setting that has a matched band (http://mdcdiamonds.co.uk/images/ProductImages/ES110Prong.jpg )

But if matching isn''t your thing, and you just want something that looks good to you, the best thing is just to try everything on until it clicks for you.

See, big difference.

Is metal a concern for you? Do you have a preference in terms of white or yellow... platinum, palladium, white gold?

As for bands, you can do a pave band, you can do a thick band, and thin band. You can do something with baguettes ( http://www.californiajewelry.com/nancy.jpg ) or something completely different http://www.whiteflash.com/Wedding_Bands/-Danielle--3-4-Diamond-Jazz-Bezel-Band_1386.htm

Do you have any idea what type of head you want on the ring? A peg head, or a basket?

I am a fan matching bands, just pleases my eyes! You are right- there are sooo many options and thank goodness for that but man I''d love to find the one thing that makes me stop dead in my tracks and go "Thats it!!!".

I''ve been considering the custom route too, there are a couple of jewelers in my area that provide CAD for a pretty low fee so that''s a great option.

You''re being so helpful! Thanks so much!

Yes... you are right... $$ is an important factor!! I would like to stay between $1-2k for the band I set my diamond with and then no more than $2k total for the two surrounding wedding bands. If only it grew on trees! hehe

I currently have white gold which I am perfectly happy with but I have heard that platinum has its benefits with durability so I''m a little open. Quite a price difference though.

I like baskets- I wouldn''d mind setting my diamond up a little higher- and I like intricate designs on the side too- more so if I went with a pave band I think... something like this:

http://www.radiantcut.com/JewelryGallery.aspx (go the the Jewelry galley and then to the solitaires tab... it''s the innovation- the side shot is awesome!!)

I also like pave knife edge bands as well... ugh, so many gorgeous things!

Let me know what you think!
