Hi antique lovers!

I have this ring sitting in my jewellery box for years. It was my grandmother’s and has therefore a big sentimental value for me. The stone is rock crystal, ca. 5mm diameter and badly chipped, the setting is 18k white gold.
My idea - keeping the setting and replace the stone with a pretty little OEC or transitional. Is that even possible? If so, where can I find a nice stone? I like colours in the lower colour range... I‘m based in Europe, so internet buy is a possibility.

Thank you!

It's certainly possible, you will want to take it to a jeweler to find out what the exact size diamond is (width and depth) you need also keep in mind the prongs will probably need some work so you'll want to budget for that.

I would certainly rescue such a ring. One of these four white stones might fit www.

Thank you both! I‘ll make sure to talk to the jeweller. :-)

I found one at Ivy & Rose and it fit perfectly! So my grandmas ering shines brightD51AF929-4100-4A1E-9391-C8501FF54FCA.jpeg again! The old stone was a white zircon, but badly chipped.

Can we see some snaps in indirect sunlight? Usually a window with the ring facing away from it is best to see yummy OEC facets.

That’s so pretty!!

Beautiful!!!

So sweet. Hope it gives you comfort
