Help me find a oval diamond

About a year ago I came here to ask advise for a promise ring, and you guys/girls came through with excellent advise and suggestions. Now I'm looking for an engagement ring, particularly one with an oval diamond. I'm looking for one that is approximately 1.5 ct, G color or better, VS1. My budget for the diamond is roughly $7k, let me know if that is not realistic. I don't know what to look for in an oval diamond and so any diamond you can link for suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there!

I'll give the same advice you'll hear from a lot of people -- you need to inspect ovals based on pictures and ASETs, not numbers alone. Many people will suggest James Allen and Good Old Gold as great stops for oval looking.

I think you'll find that, for the specs you quoted, you're looking at close to double a $7K budget. Ovals do tend to show color and inclusions more than, say, round brilliants, but if you can get an eye-clean SI1 in H color, you might be able to keep the budget in the $10-11K range.

For $7K, you're looking at closer to 1 carat -- which will still be beautiful!

There seems to be a big gap around 1.25 and your budget. At JA there doesnt seem to be anything available. Here is what I could
find in your budget that looks nice. $7k wont get you to 1.5.

This does have an arrow through the middle but it doesnt get too dark (IMO).

The other option is to look at Enchanted Diamonds. It's a little hard to search there because their videos arent that good.
Ignore the scores they give them.

Ditto about your $7K budget. If you want a 1.5 ct oval, you will have to sacrifice either colour and clarity or up your budget.
