I'm looking for a fancy vivid yellow step cut- around the 2ct mark. Not sure how to assess what would be a good buy, other than setting the cut to 'ideal' and looking at the prices and trying to maximise price to ct ratio. Very low tech - would appreciate suggestions on what else to look out for.

I don't know what I'm doing but as a starting point, I ran a search on LGD website:

https://www.loosegrowndiamond.com/lab-created-colored-diamonds/?colored=yellow&intensity=4,5,6&carat=1.56,5.34&cut=3.00,4.00&price=100.00,2237.00&shape=Asscher,Emerald&skuu=593366463

Looking them over you will see a 5ct yellowish brown for the same price as a very close to yellow 2ct to give you an idea of the market difference.
Both are fancy vivid yellow on the IGI report.

Try Diamonds by Lauren, David has nice lab-gowns and his step cuts are wonderful.

Thanks Karl. So what would be a good approach? reject all non GIA ones, or rely on their photos and videos and make a call from those? I think the first choice really cuts down on optionality, but the 2nd choice seems risky.

Thanks - I had a quick look just now, maybe my inexperience but the stock looks similar to LGD - labs are also IGI.

The video is a different diamond than the photo, it's not an Asscher.
