I'm helping my friend source a lab diamond engagement ring, but I'm unfamiliar with vendors for larger lab stones. Looking for a stone in the following specs:

Carat: 2-2.5ct
Cut: PS specs, MRB
Color: D-F, the higher to color the better
Clarity: FL-VVS, the higher the clarity the better
Florescence: None
Budget: $15K, but there's flexibility here, important to get a good price/value

Setting: 6 prong, low setting, platinum, simple and classic, no diamonds on band

Thanks for the help!

Budget: blown, but looks like it has a very small table! Not sure if there might be too much obstruction, though?

I'm really not an expert on rounds TBH (or anything else for that matter... :???:  ) but these caught my eye:

3.03 F VS1 - what looks like angles that will give a decent HCA score, but Blue Nuance noted (IIRC):

2.65 E VS1 - might be a bit shallow on HCA?

2.06 D IF - might be a touch deep on HCA and LGFs might be a bit long (for my taste...), giving a more splintery light performance:

2.05 D VVS1 - smaller table and looks like good angles for HCA, but no image/video:

2.62 F VS1 - much cheaper than the others(!) with what looks like good angles, but no image/video:

This is an interesting request because the budget is there for sure, but a quality cut with those color and clarity requirements wasn’t easy to find.
At that budget, maybe work with Rhino at Distinctive Gem for a custom cut diamond..? You’ll get ASETs and very detailed reports- for $15k, I think I’d go for the custom experience to get EXACTLY what I wanted.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I passed them on to my friend. I recommended asking for the reports to see the proportions and run them through the HCA calculator. She said her boyfriend thinks that's too much trouble. It's a shame people aren't willing to put forth the additional effort!

He has a budget of 15k but cant be bothered to take an extra 2 min per stone to make sure he gets a good one?? I dont understand people.

Wish I had 15-grand I could drop on something without worrying about how good it was...
