I would probably go for number two. What are the measurements on the stones? Does one have a bigger face up then the other?

Thanks! Below is the measurements:

First One: 6.49x6.43x4.01 This one has some feather, crystal, and indented natural.

Second One: 6.61x6.65x4.04 This one has some cloud and crystal.

Not sure how the inclusion will affect the diamond since I am new at this.

At first glance I like the second one better. The first one is a tad deep.

They both have excellent HCA scores...I happen to be getting a H VS2 as well! I like seeing the copy of the certification, though, to see how the inclusions are plotted. Do they have the certs online to look at?

Yes, the GIA report is online to look at. I just did not know how to add it to the post. Below is the link to get to it. Thanks for your help!

Well, those both look good. I am wondering what makes stone #1 priced higher than #2...as in, is it because of having all excellents? I don''t think you can go wrong with either. On the one hand, I''d probably go with the second one since it has a slightly larger diameter. I guess it''s disadvantage is that it is showing an inclusion toward the center, and the clouds not shown is an uncertain factor. My stone I just ordered is close to the numbers of #1, so I would not hesitate to get that one either. This is really a toss up...both probably great either way.

Do come back and show us whichever one you choose!

I agree that I''d take the second one as well. It has better spread and isn''t quite as deep. As far as the inclusions go, with the clarity grades you''re looking at, they should be negligible.

That is the part I am concern. Not knowing where the cloud is on #2. Does being a VS2 means it is eye clean for sure? If I can''t see it then I think it should be fine.

VS2 does not necessarily mean it''s eye clean. Some are and some aren''t. They are not all created equal if you will.

Hmmm...I guess I will have to see it in person to tell. Does anyone know if Blue Nile can send me a picture of the diamond? I just will hate it if it is not eye clean and I will have to mail it back to them. Don''t really want to go with the refund process.

Daveo,

What I had my vendor do was bring in the three stones I was interested in. They happen to offer a webcam viewing online, and I was able to see the stones magnified. However, I got the clearest picture by email. I''d tell BlueNile you want them to bring in both stones and to email you magnified images of both of them, and have them visually inspect them and tell you their opinion. If for any reason they will not do this, then I''d check with Dimend Scaasi or James Allen, who both would likely have access to the same or very similar stones and be able to examine them for you. I know Dimend Scassi did not charge me anything to do this.

I just looked at another stone at Dimend Scaasi (the on-line webcam). Issac at Dimend Scassi showed me a SI stone. There is also a remark about cloud not shown. Issac said that the cloud can''t be seen by the eye so it is a good thing to have given it will lower the cost. Is this true???

On the GIA plot, it looks as if the cloud on the 2cd stone is directly under the table. This is the worst place it could possibly be. Ask Blue Nile if it''s eye clean.

I imagine he means it is one of the better kind of inclusions to have since it is harder to see, yet makes the grade SI1 which is priced lower than VS.

Yep, he means that it''s an eyeclean SI. For people who are just looking for eyeclean stones and looking for value, there can be a lot of money saved by downgrading the clarity grade. My SI2 is completely eyeclean, but I saved a lot of money by going with an SI2 instead of a VS or VVS. It''s all in what you want.
