Help me decide between these 2 diamonds please!!

Okay, that sounds good. You are right that lower color and smaller size will show, too! I think if she is unhappy with the inclusion at some point, you just start saving to upgrade the stone to better clarity in the same size and maybe drop to H color.

(Oh, and I looked at the videos, too, and really could not see anything. The diamond looks very white, though! Maybe you are getting a really good I1!)

Most mall diamonds are I1 or lower and most people don't notice.

That said - I don't see the inclusion in the pics and most people won't when viewing the diamond. GOG does have an upgrade policy and you can upgrade if she's not happy with it. She and other people will see "sparkle", especially on a solasfera. My POH is an eye clean I1 and I wholeheartedly support dropping clarity for the other Cs, if the cut is excellent - which it is in this case. I personally think it's being smart with your money and spending it on things your fiance and other can see - size and color. Good job, it's gorgeous!

where have you been all this time?!? you hit the nail on the head. exactly how i feel. i got a diamond with excellent cut, carat, color, and sparkle/fire. i had to skimp on the clarity to stay within my budget, but out of the 4 C's clarity plays the smallest role in the diamond I selected. If all else fails and that small white inclusion bothers my fiance, GoG's trade up policy is fantastic so I will just take advantage of that.

Congrats! I doubt she'll even notice- I personally wouldn't say anything and see how it goes. Unless she's done all the research you have, she may not understand the budget tradeoffs. If she's super excited about the specs and starts researching, she'll know what a smart man you are and how you'll continue to maximize the family budget. Eye clean beautifully cut I1s are hard to find, but GOG seems to have a bunch right now that make me drool (jubilees!)! Can't wait to see hand pics!
