They are both eye clean and excellent cuts. The first is larger than the second according to Jamesallen folks. But the second is F as opposed to an I color. I want to but the cheaper diamond but I am afraid that she might see the yellow. What should I do?

Gosh, hard choice between an F and an I! There are two color grades between there! I''d probably go with the F, but I''d be very open to a G or H. Surely they have some in a 1 ct. stone???

There will be a small difference in visible color between these stones if compared to one another in close proximity. If they were in earrings, one on each side of a head, I doubt anyone would notice the color disparity. Some places in the world where darker skins prevail, we see really yellowish diamonds as being very acceptable and popular. With very fair skinned folks, often we think of less color intensity in the diamonds doing better with their skin tones. It really is not that simple, but sometimes one can generalize. There are places in India where really high quality in color and clarity diamonds are very desired and skin tones are certainly not as light as in the colder regions of the globe. THere are no rules which don''t have wide exceptions in these choices.

Analyze the kind of person your bride to be is. Will she really prefer the F color, or would she prefer you to have saved some money for other things? Does she "need" and F color? Do you "need" and F color? If one of you need it, then that''s the answer. If neither of you care, then "I" will do it.

She will not see yellow in an I, what she may see is some "warmth," and ONLY when looking through the sides - not yellow, just not as icy. Many here are very happy with their I diamonds. But if you need reassurance, H is a good bet.
