Hi guys,

I've been with my girlfriend for 3yrs and its about that time! I've done a lot of research (getting a little obsessed) and have narrowed it down to a pretty close range: round, ~1.1 carat, best cut available, G, VS1. I'm looking on BN, JA and WF, but it seems the strengh of the aussie dollar vs. the US will probably price out BN at the moment. So I have five "final contestants", that it's getting harder for me to distinguish between, so I thought I'd ask for some help. Thanks!

is there a budget you'd like to stay in? any reason for wanting VS1? you can always go down to VS2 and get better color or larger stone since you can't really tell the difference with naked eye

You will need to post the info about the BN stones, the links don't wory corss nationally.

I would pick the JA stone from the others and save the $$, unless you specifically know you want the buyback and upgrade policies from WF.

Or I would go with this one if WF is where you want to be and are ok with VS2: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2631619.htm

I'd choose the lesser expensive WF stone because it is about the same diameter as the more expensive one.

The 1.14 G VS2 looks great, too!

Thanks for the response. Some more background on my thinking: I was originally ready to spend somewhere north of $15,000, but as I learned more, it simply didn't seem necessary. My girl is quite petite and although she really appreciates nice things, she is also very modest; I don't think she wants a big ring and a nice 1.1 would be look balanced on her hand. As for clarity, I really don't want anything visible, and since I'm planning on buying online, it also gives some piece of mind. As for color, I'm probably the most flexible on this. G seemed like a good value without having to compromise too much.

I'm open to others opinions, though. That's why I'm on here!

btw-this will go in a four-pronged platinum solitaire setting.

Thanks Dreamer,

I think I'm going to pass on the BN stones simply b/c of the exchange rate difference. Why pay up 9% for no reason?

Thanks a good find on WF! I'm no jewler, but looking at the report and photos, it looks like it could easily be VS1.

Also any opinions on the settings? WF vs. JA? I like a simple four-prong platinum
