Help me choose the best cushion!

Hello!

Can you all help me pick the better cushion cut? The first link is fine diamond that I currently have, and am thinking about replacing for the second diamond. Before deciding to purchase the first diamond most 'x' cuts where out of my price range. However, I recently found this diamond that is affordable due to its depth percentage which is slightly out of the 'very good' GIA cut range.


I have heard that 'x' cut cushions perform better in regards to facets and all over brilliance. Would the depth percentage be an issue? My current diamond (first link) has a better depth percentage and the jewelry consultant seems to think it is an overall better diamond due to that.


Both items are listed as sold, one is on hold and the other I have already purchased. You should be able to scroll down in order to view 360 videos, GIA report etc.

The depth percentage for the second diamond is 69.7 which is my main concern. Thanks again!

I vastly prefer the style of cut of #2 and 3 over the crushed ice look of number 1. I don't think #2 is as well cut as some I have seen in that style cut, though. #3 looks promising, but I am not sure about SI2 clarity. Can you post the link so we can see the video? I may not have time to look again until later. As you compare stones, be sure to look at diameter measurements because they can vary in cushions of the approximate same weight.

I will mention that you might also want to look at Enchanted Diamonds, because they have carried some well cut stones in the past similar to the last two stones. I may have time to look at those later.

Sometimes it doesn't want to route to the diamond page- so if you go to Blue Nile and enter LD08621794 in the search box it will pop up.

I am sticking with Blue Nile because it is easier to exchange the 1st diamond (which I just received) for another in their inventory. They will also set it and exchange my setting for another size.

I too was curious about the second one- although it seems to be an 'x factor' the faceting around the x seems odd on the plot. It does have a better table percentage than the 3rd diamond, although the color grade is higher in that diamond.

Looking again there are noticeable crystals on the table for #3. Although not sure if it could be detected without that magnification.
