Hi all,

I have been tossing up between these two:

http://www.jogiadiamonds.com.au/diamonds/diamonditem.php?code=CXF6000 (.76, F, SI1)

http://www.jogiadiamonds.com.au/diamonds/diamonditem.php?code=SS1760 (.92, E, SI2)

Both are roughly the same price ($400 difference). The smaller diamond appears to be a better cut.

Would greatly appreciate any thoughts and opinions on which stone is the better option from the perspective of those more experienced than I. In your view, would it be worth sacrificing the extra size (.16) for the better cut?

Cheers

another option.

how does the .76 compare with this ACA diamond?

They are both AGSL Ideal cuts, the ACA is a branded Whiteflash and has all the compliments including trade up policy, so I would consider theirs.

A question if I may, why are you only considering E & F color? there are many G & H even I color that you could get for less money or maybe move up in size.

If it were me, I would look at G H I color in the VS2 - SI1 gets the most bang for the dollar and for sure stay with the AGSL Ideal cuts.

Actually the prices for those diamonds are pretty comparable for ghi of the same size that are si1 vs2. Going over a carat is a huge jump in price. Won't be able to get much bigger than what you're looking at without shelling out more money.

Can you ask for some kind of middle ground, .8+ ct F-H SI1+ with ideal cut for your budget?

thanks for the replies everyone

I have gone away and done some further research and ive decided to go with a BDG pave setting (other posts suggest his settings are higher quality than I could get locally in Perth). I have also narrowed my stone selection to the three below.

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/0.751-f-si1-round-diamond-ags-bl-104066186028 $3850

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/0.700-f-si1-round-diamond-ags-c-104067565004 $3639

I'm hoping to make a decision in the next couple of decisions. I am grappling with whether to go for "blue" over the signature range.

Would be grateful for input on which stone is the best of the three

Thanks

I would suggest going with the Blue line, myself. These stones have been inspected to have no negative effects from fluor and they have the added benefit of sometimes facing up whiter. Bonus - the money saved here can be put into the setting.

Either of the options you selected look great. I would suggest reaching out to BGD and ask them to do a comparison of the stones (let them know you're from Pricescope, as there is a discount available). They will be able to let you know of any benefits/pitfalls between your options.

Best of luck!

Thanks Rocky

Will get in touch with Brian and go from there
