Hi again everyone,

I'm trying to choose my diamond and I feel like I'm going in circles!

Your advice and opinions would be greatly valued!

Criteria:
Must buy from Blue Nile - (the only place I can get a full credit for the diamond I am trading in)

Ideally: Around 1 carat, eye clean (ie no lower than SI1), H colour or up, Ideal cut

Prefer not lower than H as I am very colour sensitive, and I would prefer nothing over medium flour.

My budget is below $6500 AUD, closer to $6000AUD preferred. I guess that would be about $6000 - $5500 USD.

Diamonds I have found so far:
A) 0.93 H VVS2 http://www.bluenile.com/au/round-diamond-1-carat-or-less-ideal-cut-h-colour-vvs2-clarity_LD03552104?keyword_search_value=ld03552104 (I currently have this one on hold - definitely the better quality, though a little bigger would be nice)

B) 1.04 H, SI1 http://www.bluenile.com/au/round-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-h-colour-si1-clarity_LD03548534?keyword_search_value=ld03548534 (This one seems OK - I'm nervous about the feather inclusion though?)

C) 1.03 H, SI1 http://www.bluenile.com/au/round-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-h-colour-si1-clarity_LD03557340?keyword_search_value=ld03557340 (I think this one looks good)

D) 1.01 G SI1 http://www.bluenile.com/au/round-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-g-colour-si1-clarity_LD03060832?keyword_search_value=ld03060832

E) 1.03 H SI1 http://www.bluenile.com/au/round-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-h-colour-si1-clarity_LD03397536?keyword_search_value=ld03397536 (I think this one looks good too!)

F) 1.01 H SI1 http://www.bluenile.com/au/round-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-h-colour-si1-clarity_LD03531822?keyword_search_value=ld03531822

G) 1.00 H SI1 http://www.bluenile.com/au/round-diamond-1-carat-ideal-cut-h-colour-si1-clarity_LD03553689?keyword_search_value=ld03553689

Pretty please have a look and let me know which one/ones you think are best!

I've got a picture of diamond C)

Let me know what you all think of its clarity?

anyone...?

It certainly looks eye clean!

The pic looks great! But...

It is also a "60/60" stone, which will have a slightly different flavor than the typically recommended stone around here, but that's not a bad thing (several people prefer the 60/60 look). Here's a link so you can read more: https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/60-60-proportioned-diamond

The only thing that concerns me is that it only scores a 4.0 on the HCA. https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca, and is only recommended to be considered if price is your main concern.

Now, it is hard to throw out a blanket statement and say "don't buy it", as we don't, and can't get, and reflector images (ASET, Idealscope, etc) fron BN.

I'd start plugging in the depth / table / crown and pavilion angles for the others into the HCA and see if any of them score any better.

Perhaps BN can pull more than one of them and compare them for you in real life to see if one outperforms another?

I just entered the specs of A) (the 0.93 carat) into that HCA evaluation tool and it returned 1.7 under the "Excellent" scale.

It is also quite shallow at 59% depth, diameter being 6.4mm. The other 1 carat stone C is 6.55-ish.
Do you think 0.15mm diameter difference will be noticable? I'd like the biggest I can afford.. but I don't want to sacrifice too much sparkle! Although both stones are GIA "Excellent" cuts.

They are both H colour, and the 1 carat is eye clean (as seen in above pic, anyway). 0.93 is VVS2 so no issues there.

I'd like a stone over 1 carat, but considering the excellent (apparent) quality of stone A, the 0.93c, maybe it's the best choice...?
