HELP - Looking for a 2+ carat , AGS000 / Hearts & Arrows diamond

Hello,

I am looking to find a 2+ Carat - AGS000 / Hearts & Arrows diamond. I am considering WhiteFlash, Good Old Gold, Tiffany''s and open to others that display visual reports/images.

I believe the signature cuts mask out some of the yellow tints from lower color grades and inclusions. I am in the printing industry so my trained eyes are very sensitive to color and inclusions.

Please let me know if any one of these stand out more than the others or direct me to find something that is. Thank you for your time.

In this case, I think you WF options are more attractive.

Given your color sensitivity...go look and see how you like the spread between H & J (out in the world with some GIA or AGS graded diamonds that are 2 + carats). Use your own taste this way to seal the deal.

Hi Steve

All the diamonds show potential, as you say you are colour and inclusion sensitive, I would suggest you do this. If there is a Jareds closeby go there and view their AGS0 Peerless of similar sizes to the diamonds you are considering and in various colour grades. This will give you an idea of how sensitive you are, also if there is a Hearts on Fire dealer near you, you could go there too.

If you are unsure then I would stick to G or H colour at the highest and be very specific concerning visible inclusions particularly in SI clarity grades. Clarity is graded face up so if you don't want to see any visible inclusions from any angle or distance, make sure you tell the vendor that so you are on the same page so to speak.

If you are very interested in any of the above diamonds, the next step is to contact the vendors and find out if any of the SI clarities are eyeclean, then you can go from there.

Great suggestions, looks like I have my homework to do.

One of the F SI2 runners up - has a large feather(s) but apparently not extending to the surface nor eye visible or extremely faint.

If you are sensitive to both color and clarity, then I''d go with the 2.13 G from GOG. It is one of the more expensive stones but I think the inclusions are smaller and a G color would please most anyone. The numbers are great on the stone as well. I don''t think you''d be disappointed with it!

Just check with Jon concerning the feather, he will be able to reassure you and or tell you if the diamond is suitable for your purposes.
 
While I realize you are somewhat sensitive given the nature of your job, I am wondering if the lady that will wear it is? Many women will take size over other factors, given it''s a great cut, which these are. Just some food for thought.

I noticed that some of the online diamonds have AGS or GIA certifications that are older in date (2005, 2007, etc.).

Does this mean that this particular diamond has been in the market for awhile without ever being purchased or re-purchased?
 
Either that or they are buy back or trade up stones.

Quite possible, or they could be trade ins, ask Jon - but sometimes it takes a diamond a while to find a home. I am not sure if diamonds which are traded in get a new grading report or not.

IS looks good to me. Do not judge the color of the stone by the loupe image. Does it has a hearts image or you are loosening that requirement?

It looks like a very nice diamond, ask for the gemologist to inspect the diamond and discuss how the colour grade shows itself with you. Lovely size also! Is it a True Hearts?
 
They are going to send me more photo''s and hopefully a video clip. I have requested a hearts image but remember them telling me that it''s not a true H&A. They rattled off that it was slightly off or the spread was 1%. Not sure what this means since I am just doing my homework before making a purchase.

Based on the cut specs above and the IScope does this possibly look like a winner? The IS and arrows look good to me but I am not an expert. They don''t have the ability to do a BScope and I plugged the numbers above into HCA and believe that it came up with 2.9. Not sure if this is correct. The diamond is an AGS0.

Don''t bother about the HCA score when you have the image.

It looks good. Since it is not a True Hearts, you will not get the hearts image as they are not selling that to you as a H&A.

SINCE YOU ARE COLOR CONCIOUS I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON "H" COLOR OR BETTER .

ESPECIALLY IF THE STONE IS CUT TO IDEAL PROPORTIONS YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SEEING ANY TINGE OF YELLOW

I ALSO PREFER THE VS2 OR BETTER QUALITY, AS I HAVE SEEN MANY SI2 THAT ARE ON THE BORDERLINE OF NOT BEING AN EYE CLEAN
I WOULD SHOP AROUND AND COMPARE PRICES , PRICES CAN VARY FOR SIMILAR STONES
