To see a picture (that i can''t figure out how to post) go to the tacori website, bridal collection 1 and ring VII.

This forum is fine.

Did you try to check the local Tacori dealers in your area?

Thanks for the suggestion, Pricescope. I have looked at two of the dealers in my area, but unfortunately they had a very limited stock -- not the one that i''m interested in. they said that they could order it, but i just wanted to see if i could track down some pictures before going through the hassle...

Doesn''t BBB sell Tacori??? Or you can go to www.bernierobbins.com I know they sell Tacori. You should be able to see some good pictures there. HTH

I used to check out Tacori settings on Solomon Brothers. I don''t know if they have that exact setting but it''s worth a look.....www.solomonbrothers.com.

Hi Lu Lu, I see you are in DC... Bailey, Banks and Biddle does have a lot of Tacori Rings, but i dont know if they have the ring you are after. Their store at Tyson's Corner is much larger than the one at Pentagon City... i would give both a call and ask if they have it.

I know for sure that Robbin's Diamonds at the Christiana Mall in Delaware has this ring... Beuna Girl went there and tried it on, here is her thread about it. Would be about a 2 hour trip, plus the service there rocks and its tax-free!

ETA: Now that i think about it, the last time i was in Bailey, Banks and Biddle at Tysons, they DID have that ring! Of course this was several months ago... again, give em a call. Also Khoury Brothers has a store at Tysons and they carry Tacori.

The BBB by me carries both the first setting and Brwneyedgrl''s setting. I know b/c I tried both on.

They''re both gorgeous!

Okay, so now i realize that i can only be interested in the round setting as i think that i''m inheriting a round stone...

it''s funny, because overall i find tacori rings a bit too ornate and busy for my taste, but this particular ring is so understatedly gorgeous!!!!

Pebbles: did you think that the ring sat too high on your finger when you tried it on.

Also, does BBB set an outside stone and would anyone advise against using them if they do?

thanks all!

I used to think Tacori rings were too much too... then i saw them in person and

I believe they do except outside stones. I have a Tacori ring bought from BB&B and Tacori were the ones to actually set the stone because they make each ring specific to the diamond. When i took my ring in for its 6 month check-up, the jeweler commented on how well my diamond was set.

NJC: could you elaborate on how getting your ring and then setting the stone worked. I might be doing a similar thing and would love to know how it works. I''m thinking of getting the setting from say a BBB and then I will have in my possession the diamond -- what next?

Thanks!

Hi-

I don''t have either of those two settings but i do have a tacori ring.

I bought it from a jeweler and had my own stone.

First, you have an option to send the stone to tacori. That means you''ll be without your stone for possibly up to 5 weeks. Then they return your new ring and the stone set. The setting takes place at tacori.

Second - you could order the setting from tacori - then when it arrives have your local jewler set it. Bailey Banks and Biddle WILL do this -but there is a pretty large charge (for me it was like $300). They also said it would take 2-3 days as at my store there was no permanant jeweler - just one that worked the "area".

Instead I went to a local jeweler (not a big chain store) - bought the setting from him - and he set my stone NO CHARGE while I waited.

But yes, you can - and you have several options when working with your stone. However - you will need to have your stone measured to make sure they have the right size for the setting.

I don''t think that either ring sat high on my finger, then again, I don''t like really low settings. They were both high enough for my eternity band to sit flush next to them. If you''re looking for a super low setting, then neither one of these will be what you want.

BB&B said they would send my stone to Tacori to set it. There are several local B&M stores near me that also carry Tacori and they said they would set the stone themselves. I don''t think BB&B have any jewelers on staff as they send everything out.

Laney: thanks! Your ring is gorgeous.

Question: you said you bought your setting from a local jeweler -- can any jeweler order the setting or do they have to be an authorized tacori dealer?

I was actually not involved with the actual ordering and what not of my ring, but this is my understanding of how things worked.

BB&B doesnt have the Tacori settings in the stock room... i dont think anyone really does. Tacori makes each ring custom (or at least the heads) to fit your diamond exclusively. So your diamond would have to be sent to Tacori for them to make the ring.

DH purchased my diamond from BB&B as well, so he picked out the diamond and the setting with the salesperson. Then BB&B sent the diamond to Tacori who made the ring and then set the diamond and sent it back to BB&B for him to pick up. It took about 8 weeks.

Is your diamond already set in something like a ring or pendant? I would think all you would have to do is give BB&B your diamond, they would send it to Tacori. When you go to try on the ring i would mention that you have an inherited diamond that you are planning on using.

Thanks!

My local jeweler was an authorized Tacori re-seller. He just has his own family shop - and is not a mall chain type of store. He also gave me a better pricing.

You also have an option once you know the diameter of the stone, to order the setting from whomever you want. Then take the setting and the stone to someone who will set it. You''re not locked into any particular scenario.

For me -I didn''t want to give up my stone for 5 weeks (I had it set in a plain solitaire and wanted to wear it).

Also - I didn''t like the fact that the bench jeweler who was to set my stone was kind of a "floater" or contractor to the BBB stores. I wanted someone I could build a relationship with.

And I was lucky to get the best of both worlds!

Good Luck!
