Looks like.... a pebble.

Here's a video of it. It's roughly about 20 stone in weight. Light penetrates it quite deeply. Complete novice with things like this

looks more like granite or some sort of mix of stuff. whatever it is, its not really what I would consider gemmy, more like...counter top material.

I revise my view. It appears to be a small boulder.

Quartz like this is quite common. I was a rockhound before working in the colored gemstone business. These can be found just about anywhere in the world from pebbles to boulders.

It looks exactly like the quartz rocks I find on the lakeshore, except yours is much larger!

Yes, definetly alluvial. The stone has been rounded & polished by years and years of moving around in water rubbing against other stones and sand.

Is it worth any kind of monetary value? It's roughly 120 kilos

Do you know how much weight is 120 kilos? 120 = 264 pounds. No, I don't think so.

I think you hit the jackpot with this stone, it’s definitely a keeper :)

A little but the shipping's a killer.

You could send it to GIA :P2.

I agree that it looks like quartz and has been around the block once or twice. It is not "rock crystal" (glass-like) quartz.

If it's 120 kilos I am more fascinated with the super-human hand that is handling it, than the rock

Its a pretty cool find
we only get borring river boulders and pumice here
