I am considering a 1 carat Cushion Modified Brilliant and was wondering if it looks like a good purchase for $4k It is GIA 1 carat, G, VS2 Depth 70.5%, Table 59% 5.72x5.69x4.01

thanks for any advice

I am going by my eye because I'm no gemologist - I think it looks beautiful - it's white, I like the faceting pattern too and shape.
I say yes to hollywood. ;)) what setting ru getting?

It's pretty from what I can see. But it is a bit for the weight. 5.72x5.69x4.01. But at 4k it's priced accordingly (to take into account that it's a bit small for the weight).

I can't comment on it further as the picture is not particularly great and the stone is tilted which is not good for evaluation. And because there is no ASET. BUT, if it has a good enough return policy AND the spread works for you, then there's nothing to stop you from checking it out in person.

OK thanks. What do you figure the ideal measurements in MM should be for a 1 carat cushion? I plan to set it in a Henri Daussi ADTS double halo btw.

In a double halo you won't notice the slight spread loss at all. That's the perfect setting for this stone.

There are no average measurements for a one carat cushion but 70% depth is very deep.

Very pretty stone! And I agree that your setting choice will be perfect! Can't wait to see your final results! :appl:
