Hi all I just got engaged to the man of my dreams who sank to his knees and surprised me with a beautiful ring.

I said yes!

The ring is a solitaire e vvs2 ideal cut but has strong blue fluroscence. We had it valued in Australia as he bought it on line. He says the valuation was good nut I've not seen it nor the valuation!

I know it was expensive.

The hca is 1.3 all exec except for Scintillation which is very good.

At times in the sun it glows and looks so so bright. Do you think that the Fluor has reduced transparency?

I am wondering why the ring is so bright. Is it lack of contrast, I can't really see the h and a pattern because of the four prong setting or is it the stone?

Did we get ripped off?

post the grading report here.

fluorescence is a factor in causing haziness but there's no way to tell except by physically examining the diamond.

There are many of us here that seek out strong blue fluorescence as the diamonds literally spark like crazy in sunlight- especially in the D, E, F range. Very few have the milky, hazy look that can be caused by fluorescence. Since you are saying that yours looks very bright in sunlight it doesn't sound like the fluorescence is negatively impacting your diamond at all. If you have a chance, please post pictures of your ring and just enjoy it!!

ETA- Forgot to say Congrats on your engagement!!!!!!! :appl:
