Hello!

I’m a longtime lurker and first time poster here. I’m in the market for a brilliant cut diamond in the 1.4 – 1.5 carat range, G-I color, and eye clean. I’m planning to set this diamond in a four prong white gold solitaire setting, and my budget is roughly $7.5k USD.

I’ve narrowed my options down to three diamonds, and wanted to get your advice on my top pick, a 1.41ct VVS2 I color diamond.

I’ve copied the ideal scope images and GIA Certificate below. Very grateful for your feedback on the idealscope image, I’m a total newbie and am trying to figure out if this is a purchase worthy diamond!

Also as a side note I live in Australia, and trying to figure out if I will have to cough up an additional 5% duty on this purchase. Grateful if anyone can shed some light on this.

Some leakage, showing I color. Expected, yet decent for a 36/40.6.
Some digging.

Overall: 85/100.
Since you are shopping from AUS, try to get a better cut stone.

How to tell digging from IS? Just curious...

The little triangles are separated from the arrow head, indicating digging, right?
Yes.
There are other features, but this is the easiest to spot.
