Hello experts,

Please help me estimate the value of this stone:

1.04 Carat
Cut cornered Rectangular Modified Brilliant.
VSS2
H Color
Fluorescence: Blue Strong
Polish Very Good
Symmetry Good
Measurements 6.08 x 5.74 x 3.63 mm
Depth=63.2
Table 76%
Girdle medium thick
Cutlet None

Thank you very much

Are you seeing it in person? If not, are you able to get an ASET image and magnified photos of the stone?

Without that information we really cannot say much about fancy cuts remotely.

Hi Sara and welcome!

Is it a diamond you intend to buy or one you are contemplating selling?

Hi

This is a stone I intend to buy. They asked me for ~4000$. The certificate is GIA but from 2003

I''m concern about the date, the (blue strong) fluorescence for color H and the depth

Please give me your opinon about the price

Thank you

The depth is ok, the table is large though - usually it is preferable to have the table percentage to be less than the depth but that is no guarantee of a good looking and well cut diamond.

The report is quite old, is this diamond for sale on the secondary market or do you know if it is a trade in?

The strong blue fluorescence isn't necessarily an issue, check with an independant expert and make sure you have a return policy to check the fluorescence isn't making the stone look cloudy, this is rare but best to check.

Have you seen it in person?

Concerning the clarity, we can't give you price guidelines without knowing this grade, you wrote VSS2, do you mean VVS2 or VS2? This can make a big difference in the asking price. Also we need to know if the stone is for sale online, brick and mortar store or from a private party please.

Thanks for your answer

I''m buying the stone from a diamond importer for myself and I will put it in an existing (old) ring

Regarding the (striong blue) fluorescence: in the GIA report inside the figute of the stone there is a red spot with the text "key to symbol : cloudly"

The clarity is VVS2

He asked formore than 4000$

What do u think?

I am not quite sure here, do you mean this makes special mention of the stone looking cloudy because of the fluorescence, or is it just saying there is a cloud inclusion noted? Its sounds more as if this means that there is a cloud inclusion present rather than the fluorescence making it cloudy, it will say cloud if it means an inclusion.
