When my Nana passed away she left me 2 rings and I was hoping to learn more about them, the ruby and diamond one in particular.
I've brought both rings into local jewelry stores to see if they were worth getting appraised and insured or if they were man made jewels that weren't worth it. The diamonds are all real and so is the ruby. The star sapphire is most likely a Lindy (sp?) and they were popular in the 1970s but it is a good quality one and there's still a slight chance that it's a real gem. The very rough non expert appraisal I got for each ring was $6000 for the ruby and $2000 for the star sapphire.
The ruby and diamond ring was probably made it England? I know my Nana visited England every few years as she had friends there. I can't figure out what the hallmarks mean though so I'
