Hi

Can someone please help me - I am purchasing a diamond b halo ring and the price difference between the colour D and G is about £1000. They are both same spread and triple excellent.
What I really need help with is should I push myself and get the D colour or once it is set in platinum
Would G be adequate ?
Please help so confused.

G is absolutely fine. If you set it in a platinum halo setting you should have no issues. However, in a 1.5ct stone the price difference between a D and a G is far more than £1000. GIA's triple ex has wide variance so you need to find the individual specs and run them through the HCA to see if they are truly well cut. If all other things are the same then definitely get the D as for only £1000 more its a steal.

That doesn't sound right only difference of $1560 from a D to a G color?..

Hi

The price difference is maybe because I am
Paying cash on the d from one supplier so maybe it is why it is cheaper.
Thank you

The G should be fine in platinum. :wavey:

Preface: I love high colors.

For 1000GBP more I could get a D??? HELL YA!!!!! Where do I sign up?!?! I LOVE the bluish, silver and rainbow colors it reflects. that's what I see.

What is YOUR preference?!?!

Are both just as well cut?

Thank you I have read that g isn't much different etc my concern is the halo setting may make it appear yellow/discoloured

Yup, IF the D have no issues, undamaged.

Can you post the GIA report #s?

Hi I will post the reports on Monday. Thank you so much for your time .
I really need to order this asap and really didn't understand the complexities of diamonds and time it can take to get the stone you need .
Thank you

Please note that it totally depends on how color sensitive YOU (or whoever is wearing the ring) are. And people can usually appreciate the difference between a D and a G if he two stones are side by side. However, people do not wear two stones side by side IRL. That is why people are fine with a G, which does look quite white.
