Hi everyone!
My partner is buying my new e ring in about two weeks now and im so excited.
I want to be able to have the stone & setting readily chosen so he does not have to waist time doing the back tracks on my research.
Basically at this stage our budget comes in lower than expected due to a surprise pregnancy thats due in 4 weeks. This is our seccond baby jn 10 months lol and our 3rd in total so basically its been rather costly. So all up id like to spend $2500 for engagement & wedding band. Which is a ok with me as ive never been a fan of huge rocks on my hand. The wedding band i have chosen is $460 and i absolutely adore it. The setting i have chosen is a thin pave setting like the JA french pave in 14k which comes to $550. So that leaves us woth approximately $1500 for a nice stone. I was originally looking at rounds but i think im more partial to cushions & radiant cuts.
So im wondering whats the best way to go about this? I have looked on JA and for a .6ct G VS2 cushion in the setting it came in at $2070.
Do you think that the .6ct is too small for a size 5.5 finger. Should i go up or down in carat, clarity, colour etc to et more value. Or should i lookon ebay for something simillar that falls in budget. For example fascinating diamonds seem to have a few nice rings also i found a solitaire .68ct cushion vintage cut g vs2 for $960 which we could have reset in to JA but it was not gua certified however was appraised by a gia gemologist graduate or something. I basically would like a nice sized stone nice on the color clarity scale and dont want to waist $ in unecessary areas. Like if going from .5ct to .6 is going to be super unoticible is there a point ? Id appreciate any help any opinions x

I should meantion i plan on doing a little stack. So the e ring with its thin pave band. The weddig ring is white gold diamond and saphire bezel set max width is 2mm they are alternating bigger diamonds smaller saphires. And eventually maybe a thing baguette diamond eternity band :) id like the centre stone to stay the main attraction. Surronded by lots of delicate diamonds on the thin bands :)

Your description reminds me of Kate Beckinsale's awesome set:

Perhaps you could mount the center stone E/W? If I had a $1,500 budget I would get an I or J color and an eyeclean SI to maximize size. Especially if you like cushions, which tend to face up pretty small.

Sounds like a gorgeous stack!

Congrats on the pending engagement and on the baby on the way. Two within ten months and an older one two - you're my hero!

Oh rosebloom that stack is amazing!! And her bagguette is soooo exactly what i would eventually love to add i have looked at pricing for them and its about $1500- $2000 depending on different things. Im worried dropping in colour you will notice the yellow. I have just read going below H in fancy cuts is not totally advisable. & thank you very much for your kind words i dont know about hero every day i seccond guess myself LOL

Re: help getting the most bang for my buck ! E ring count do

Hi again!
Thank you for the replies! Im definately set on james allens thin pave setting pr something super close. I feel like that would compliment my wedding and planned eternity band nicely. I just emailed james allen to see if he could simy place a .6ct cushion stone in to the setting so i can get an idea of how it will look. Ive also been trying to find pics of smaller cushion solitaires but it seems the smaller ones get placed in halo settings alot which can be deceiving. I really want to pull the trigger and just buy it but im sooo nervous the stone is going to be tiny and swallowed by the other rings. Like i said im not out for a large diamond but the fact that cushions face up quote smaller makes me nervous. My ring size is 5.5
