Hi all,
I am looking to get a custom pave setting made for a diamond that I already have. On the recommendations of these boards, I have reached out to several vendors for quotes and over the month I have been pursuing this I have not been able to get a single quote from any of them. When I contacted Leon Mege, I got an email asking to resubmit pictures and after I did and did not hear back for over a week I sent a follow up email and still have heard nothing. Victor Canera "respectfully declined" working with me without ever discussing budget or time lines. A few other vendors I have reached out to have simply not responded.
While I don't want to have to FORCE somebody to take my money, I am really surprised that I am having so much difficulty finding somebody to do business with, especially with jewelers that come so highly recommended on these forums. I am based in NYC but with the hours I work, I don't have time to be going to many places in person and would like at least a quote ahead of time before I take time off of work to go meet with somebody.
So my question is two-fold- 1) Have other people experienced this difficulty in getting feedback from jewelers, or have I been secretly blacklisted/ come off as difficult and am being avoided/ am sending my emails into a black hole? and 2) Any recommendations for NYC based jewelers with great customer service that can do a nice job on a custom pave setting?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide!
