First posting, please be gentle. Getting engaged and shopping for ring and stone. Thinking seriously about a stone that a local jeweler has available. It''s a 1.29 carat H&A, F color, SI2-SI1 , AGS certification, priced at $6,800. The pricing is $6,300 to the selling jeweler and $500 to my jeweler who is the middle man. Is that a fair price for that stone? Thanks. Will be used with a cople of small baguettes. To the eye a gorgeous stone.

Hmm, I don''t think AGS grades diamonds as SI1-SI2. Are you sure you are correct in that? Can you post the AGS cert?

It''s an SI2, but 1 of the inclusions, which you cannot see with the eye will be covered by prongs.

...or...you could use this instead. Pricing is definitely not bad, if you''ve got a jeweler to come back to and such. Still, it would be nice to get rid of the middle man...which...though the options presented here let you do, you can''t as easily walk over locally for a cleaning, tightening, etc.

BTW, AGS means means it''s possible to have current AGS0 for light performance, but it may not have it, too. Good to have. See if it does. Also, don''t pay the premium for AGS without it, generally.
