Hi, I thought I would share this link with all the first-time diamond buyers out there...if I had seen this a week ago before making my purchase I think my life would have been a lot less stressful! The one most important thing I would have learned from this (and would have had more confidence to put it into practice if i'd seen this article first) is to absolutely not accept an appraiser which the store chooses. I have now purchased my ring, and am over the moon with my selection. Have I paid too much for it? Who knows, as the appraiser was one which the store selected! I'm not sure exactly how much an independent appraiser normally costs (anybody?), but I suggest that this investment would be well worth it, if not because it will save you money, then because it will give you peace of mind!
