Hello all,

I just put a deposit on an emerald cut diamond. I pretty much searched high and low, online and offline, for different prices within various ranges; the prices were so scattered that I couldn't figure out who had the better deal.

Anyways, I wanted to ask some of you whether or not you think my purchase was a reasonable buy. I purchased an emerald cut diamond to go with a Tacori setting. Here are the details of the diamond:

1.20 G VS2 Table 74% Depth (somewhere in the high 60's)
Fllourescence: None
Girdle: Slightly Thk to Thk
Cut: Good

The price of the diamond came out to be $5700. The Tacori setting came out to be $1200. So all in all, my bottom line for the diamond is $7000.

Please let me know what you think, and if you think I'm getting ripped off or if it's a good deal. Thanks in advance!

Any help? Suggestions?

Similar diamonds are listed here within the range of what you paid for your selected diamond. So, it seems you did not overpay. The mounting is rather fixed in price due to it being a designer item.... I think you are going to be okay.

Just to check, is the diamond GIA graded?

Just to check, is the diamond GIA graded?

great question!!

Thanks a lot for the comment, as well as, the question.

The diamond is GIA graded, and I''m going to email the salesperson to get the GIA report number for the diamond. Once I have it, I''ll be sure to put up all the specs.

Thanks again and I hope to hear more.

Thanks David! You are welcome geno, post what you have and we can go from there, can you get any images of the diamond too please?

Hi
what are the measurements of the stone ?
as far as price is concerned I went to different sites and have seen similar stones for about $700-$1500.00 LESS ,for the diamond only

I suggest you check out different sites to see if you are getting a good deal

good luck

WOW! Thanks...you guys (and gals) are great! So, I received the GIA Report number, and have provided the specs below. As I said, the diamond was $5700 and the Tacor designer ring was $1300; bringing my bottom line to $7000. I usually buyer's remorse with sort of tag, so I would really appreciate it if you let me know what you think.
