I have 3 RBC that I want to have made into a 3 stone anniversary ring. The center stone is 1.7 and the side stones are 1 carat each. I saw this setting and I have to have it. The setting was made to have clusters of rounds where the center and side stones would be. It is very hard to find a three stone setting (that isn't custom made) to accomodate my 3 stone sizes. But if the clusters weren't there, my stones would fit perfectly. I asked the jeweler if there was anyway to remove them and set my stones but he looked at me like I had an alien on my head. I didn't know if it was possible or not, but wanted to ask. He said - and I quote, "How do you expect me to do that?" IS it true that cannot be done? Just want to make sure he wasn't lying!!

Anyway the jeweler is trying to hunt down the manufacturer but hasn't been very helpful. It is killing me because this is my dream setting! The stones are set low and the cut down pave goes around the outside of all 3 stones. There is a double pave halo. The outer pave row splits off at the sides to form a delicate split shank with pave extending 1/2 way down. I don't want the traditional halo where the halo goes around every stone individually.

I have looked online everyhwere and can't find it. If you happen to know or have seen anything I would appreciate it. Otherwise, I am assuming I'll be paying $$$ to recreate it.

Thanks :)

So the 'center stones' in the setting now are just more pave stones? How are they held in there? I dont' imagine that it would be easy (or a good idea) to remove a cluster of stones and try to put a single basket for a stone in its place. Usually, there are prongs holding the smaller stones in place, and I am thinking it would just be a mess trying to replace them.

Is what you want kind of like this, except with 3 stones in a grouped halo? http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/pave-and-side-stones/split-halo-18k-white-gold-5444w18

Part of the reason that the stones are set low is that the little stones aren't as deep as your bigger stones, so they CAN be set lower. My guess would be that altering the setting COULD be done, but it would be very expensive, you'd have trouble finding a jeweler willing to do it (the one selling the ring clearly won't, which doesn't bode well for other jewelers being willing either), the end result may be fuglier than you were expecting (for instance, if the setting cannot accommodate stones as deep as yours - which I imagine it can't - your stones would stick up out of the halo rather than nestling in), and the durability of the setting may be compromised. There are alterations to settings that are fine ideas and then there are ones that are bad ideas, and this is in the latter category.

I am afraid that if you want a setting like that to fit your stones, it will have to be either totally custom made or one by a designer that has stock styles but customizes them to fit the particular stones. But by all means keep pictures of this ring as design inspiration in case you end up going custom!

I can't link from here, but google "Henri Daussi" - carried by IDJ - and they have a very similar look to this.
OR - go direct to www.idjewelryonline.com and under engagement and then Henri Daussi, you should find it.

Option from Gabriel & Co http://www.gabrielny.com/engaged/style/ER5341PT4JJ (platinum)

Agree re: Daussi. You're probably looking at $3,500-6,000 to replicate this look in a decent-quality ring. You should get quotes from Diamonds by Lauren, Steven Kirsch, Victor Canera, Leon Mege, maybe Mark at Engagement Rings Direct. A budget-friendly option is likely to be David Klass in L.A., but less refined than the prior suggestions.
