I have been here in the forum for a while reading stuff. Trying to learn some things about finding a nice diamond. But still need the experts opinion and help. My gf wants a princess cut. I am ready to pull the trigger once i find the best out there.

Been looking at whiteflash, james allen,GOG and brian gavin where there is asets, ideal scope so basically you know what youre getting but still needs your guys opinion on whats best.

My budget is around 4k to 5k for the diamond. Looking for H,i, or j vs1 ,vs2 or si-1 as long as eye clean. 1 ct to 1.20 ct. Hoping at least to get close as the look of a 1 ct round cause i know princess looks smaller.

Here's some from james allen, white flash ,brian gavin. Hoping for you opinion guys or if you have some any more suggestions let me know. Thanks

Thanks sphene does b2c jewels give asets images? The third one what do you mean by high crown? And The last one you gave show me has a very thick girdleis that fine?

I only added the last one as it is a perfect square from my searching seems rare though it says thick but to me it doesnt lok that bad but thats just me.

High crown the depth between the girdle and the table top of stone.

I didn't have long to look so I will have another search

Will you be happy with the tint of a J and do you like small or large tables

Has many of the stones belong to other suppliers assets are in the most not available I guess if your inexperienced in diamond buying stick to Whiteflash, JA and BrianGavin I am sure there are others but they are not popping into my head

malossi...I like all the stones you have picked but are you sure you want to go down to a J? I would probably stop at an "I" or even
an "H". Have you seen any well cut Js in person? Unfortunately, WF is low on "I" colored stones right now. :((

malossi,

B2C does provide ASET images.. Like many internet vendors we have some directly in-house and others with diamond partners in different places around the world.

I have notified our sales team to check on that diamond for you - depending on which diamond partner has it in their inventory, and the equipment available at that particular partner, we hope to have that option available. You are - of course - welcome to call us (or any of the vendors you have listed) and ask about those images directly.

I think J is fine but my options are between H,I,J but most of the vendors dont have a H color mostly I,J and K.. i saw a J color princess cut but with out papers to me its fine. But i havent seen a well cut J color princess.. about the table whats is better small or large table? Iam not familiar as i am new to this. I just want something that would look as look close or look the same to a 1 ct round cause i know 1 ct princess cut looks smaller than a 1 ct round. Thanksq

Thanks tyty333 i choose that vendors cause i know they all provide aset, idealscope images and all the papers n certificate you can. So you know the quality that your buying. But iam open to options.

About the J color. Iam not really sure but my options are H,I,J which ever the budgets fits that can get me a big one that at least would look close or look same as a 1 ct round. Yup they all low in H and I colored stones. I know WF has 1 H color 1.127 but i didnt like the asets images. Here it is tell me what you think.

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-3208946.htm hoping to get at least around 1.2 so it would look close to a 1ct round. Thanks for you suggestions and help guys.

I would get the assets for the 2 B2C stones I posted with those numbers they should sparkle and being larger weight should fulfill your face up criteria

No not the right one sorry will have another search

Blue areas are the dark contrast areas you observe in a diamond due to obscuration. In the ASET configuration it is intended to represent light coming from 75 degrees to 90 degrees. The amount and distribution of these areas are important. In the AGS metric well made round brilliants have about 18% blue content. A princess cut runs less than this.

Red is the most desirable color to have in the image. This is intended to be light coming from 45 to 75 degrees: It is not obscured so it is producing brightness via the most direct light.

Green light comes from the horizon to 45 degrees. It is usually reflected light and of lower quality. It should be minimized if possible with this important exclusion: Undesirable in large quantities, green is not altogether bad depending on the size and distribution of the areas in the image. It is one of two vehicles whereby brightness contrast effects are produced - the other is leakage.

Black (or white if using white backlighting) represents areas of non-reflection referred to as leakage. Depending on how you define it, this is ‘escape’ (a better scientific word than leakage) or simply non-returning facets.

There is some good basic info about princess cuts on the pricescope wiki:
https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/princess-cut-diamond

Towards the bottom there is some helpful info about the face-up size or footprint of princess vs round which was has been mentioned in this thread.
