Please help! I am considering getting a 1.31ct pear shaped diamond that is 9mm x 6mm and would only get it if I can find an affordable pave setting that is good quality. I have bought LOGR settings and like the ones I bought (7mm Legacy and others). Their pears don''t thrill me but I do like the halo look and the pave is a must- love the antique style settings. Anyone know of any that won''t cost the earth?

pear shapes have so many variables the settings end up being custom made... to buy a stock setting with a halo you run the risk of your stone being too skinny or two fat or bulging high or low or something like that... in a standard non-halo setting there''s a lot more leeway.

What''s the l:w ratio on your prospective stone?

I think contacting some of the Etsy sellers might be a good way for you to go, honestly: Julia Kay Taylor has a wonderful reputation for good work and great prices on the board, as does Sally at Heart of Water Jewels. I''d be more comfortable with Julia because shipping to Thailand would make me nervous, but they''d at the very least be a good starting point ....

BTW, when you say pave and halo, I find myself with two separate mental images in mind. Could you perhaps post a pic of what you have in mind, to narrow down suggestions?
