Hi guys,

So I found the stone I want and just ordered it from JA. Now I'm looking for the setting and could use some help.

She really wants a petite and dainty setting, and loves the Petite Cathedral Pave one on BN, http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-engagement-ring-platinum_9917..

Unfortunately they don't sell settings separately, so now I'm trying to either find exactly the same thing elsewhere or will have one custom made, which is where I need some input.

If I'm unable to find a great alternative, where would you recommend getting a custom design done? I've reached out to WF already, but wondering if there's some others where people have had really good experiences. I don't need this completed until the end of June so I do have some time to sort it out and go with a great company, just need to find them first!

Any input much appreciated, or if you've seen any similar settings, I'd love to hear about it. She ideally wants 1.5-1.8mm, platinum, cathedral settings with similar sidestones to the BN one linked.

Thanks!!

Does she prefer the peg head?

I personally would rather something like this http://www.jamesallen.com/designer-jewelry/meno-collection-by-danhov/ring/item_412-4013.asp with the integrated head, but then my preferences aren't what counts ::)

Have you asked JA about something custom or semi-custom? What did they say?

ETA: this is closer, will also allow a band to sit flush since it doesn't have the doughnut, if that is a concern

Channel/bead set melee

If you choose a different vendor to set the stone there will also be a setting fee, and you'll have to get the stone insured for shipping & setting as the second vendor won't take responsibility should something happen to the stone.

Vatche and Precision Set both make delicate styles like that, but I'm not sure of the width. Perhaps contact GOG?

I love the first one yssie posted!

I would go with a JA setting. They have a ton and a bunch that have been posted here are very similar to the blue nile one. I am sure your fiance will be happy with one of them!!

I absolutely would have James Allen set the stone. Then they are responsible for it in the unlikely event it was damaged during setting. Then when the ring comes, it is ready to be insured. They have several settings that would work. This one would look extremely similar to the one you posted:

And I love this one that was already posted:
