The Tacori is a stunner, and I can speak from experience...I think I''ve tried it on 5 or 6 times. It takes my breath away every time. I officially gave my BF the go-ahead a week or so ago, and the wait is killing me. I did take some pics, but they didn''t turn out as I hoped, otherwise I would post them for my fellow worshipers. I will try again if I''m back in the neighboorhood..let me know if you''re really interested and I will see if I can swing by. Whats one more time at the jewelers..they already think I''m crazy

I have called around for quotes on this ring in 18kt with the graduated stones 1/2 way. $3050 for the setting (made for 1.5ct round). Also, don''t know if ring size plays into the price, but I did include the info when requesting a quote..I''m wear a 4.5. Todd at GOG also quoted me the same price.

I have also admired the Mark Schneider pieces, but nobody carries them locally. I do love a cushion and think it would look stunning in the Tacori ring.

Wow! Can''t wait to hear from GOG about clarification then. Perhaps she thought I wanted the ring carved from a solid 23 carat diamond... Sorry to put you on the spot Marie@GOG, but this was the response I got:

Hi XXXXX,

Thanks for the e-mail. We have had so many beautiful rings made from Tacori the ring you are asking for has a few modifications, so I have not see what you are specifically asking for, but I have seen the 2510, a square will be great in this ring.

Yes, they have a modified version for a square stone.

In Platinum, as a ¾ eternity and modified for a 1.00-1.25ct center square $10,460.00 In 18K white gold the ring with all modifications this ring is $8,740.00.

If you have any other questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help

Kindly,
Marie

Wait, did I read that correctly that you're setting a 4ct D IF in this setting????

Or was that just because you thought the initial price quote was crazy and was hoping it included a 4ct for that price?

LOL! Sorry, that was my sense of humor over the $10k setting price...

Sorry..I spoke with Todd Gray at Nice Ice, not GOG...ahhh and only 2 glasses of wine tonight

Hi xxxx,

Thank you for your inquiry. I have attached a picture of Tacori HT 2510 which I am hoping is the ring you are referring to below – sometimes jewelers add numbers to the end of style numbers to make it more difficult for customers to run price comparisons… The price of the ring as pictured is $3,050.00 in 18k white gold with diamonds across the top portion of the ring – an eternity version of the ring is also available. As pictured the accent diamond weight is approximately 0.62 carats in VS-2 clarity and G/H color. Production time is approximately four weeks from the date of order.

Yay! Back in business. As y'all suggested it was the "3/4 eternity" that... um... "altered" the price. The response from GOG was: "changing the ring to three quarters is a major change that requires a totally new redesign and new model. That is the reason that this is costing so much more ... If you took the ring as it is, but had the head modified for the cushion, this ring would be $4240 in Platinum and $3260 in white gold."

I've already shifted my comfort level to about $10k, and I'm trying to stay flexible even with that. A modern cushion in this setting is back in the realm of possibility! Thanks folks!!

I've reached out to Maytal Hannah with some ideas for a custom ring, and I'd like to see where our discussions go with that before deciding for the Tacori or the Mark Schneiders (great prices there too, thanks misysu2). The idea of something totally unique/custom is appealing, but I may just be too apprehensive about my gf not liking it and having no return options. A totally custom design might be a better idea when the ladies are involved.

I'll probably go back to lurking on this forum while I wait to have the time to go view stones in person. Keep an eye out for me in a few weeks when I'll be contacting Mark @ ERD and getting a stone. Thank you again so much!!
