Would anyone be willing to help find a nice pear in the $3500-$4000 range? My daughter is helping a friend's boyfriend with a surprise engagement. Thanks!

Size between .8 and 1 carat. I figured G-H VS2-SI1 would be safe, but if there is better, then great. That D is a find!!! Bit of a bowtie, but would it be distracting? I don't know diddly about pears.

Hard to say about that D, The bowtie is there but not too noticeable, youd want to get an aset to be sure though.

If you're open to I color than here's one that might be worth asking for an ASET

I would caution going too low in color for a pear. For just about all other shapes I don't think an I is too low, even mq's BUT I had an H pear and the facet difference between the head and the tip is so different, the color concentration that can occur in the tip is very noticeable.

Here's one that I like (SI2, so you would need to ask JA to confirm whether eye-clean, but the images look promising):

I don't know much about pears but lately take a fancy in them (pun not intended :) ). I saw this one and thought it's quite lovely. Perhaps the experts can comment on whether it is.

I'm no expert either, but I know a few things to look for, and I've had the benefit of seeing a few JA fancies in person (which helps in correlating what the JA videos look like to what they would look like IRL).

That being said, you posted the above while I was adjusting my search parameters, and it turns out us non-experts agree on that 0.79-f-vs2, because it was one of the ones I was going to suggest next! =)

So, here are the three that I liked under 1.00ct:
