Hi everyone!
This is my first post here, but I've been stalking the boards for ages now gathering information! I've learned so much from reading these boards, it's wonderful!
I have a vision for what my e-ring will look like, but unfortunately we've been having trouble finding someone to create it for us, within our budget. We've gone to many jewelers around home, and been given different quotes ranging from 500$ - over 1000$ (which is out of our price range unfortunately). I could go through someone here, but honestly, the customer service we have gotten has been AWFUL! It's left us both feeling down about getting engaged, rather than excited.
Basically, the ring I'm looking to have created incorporates a 7X5mm oval sapphire center stone I already have. It would be set in a plain, tapered band, cathedral set so a wedding band can sit flush underneath, and be set with either 1 halo row around the center stone, or two. Right now I have a promise ring that has the sapphire stone and a halo of diamonds around it. I believe the halo is 1mm wide around, or less than that - it's VERY dainty looking. What I'm hoping for is to either do 2 halos of the same width, or 1 halo but have the width be closer to 2mm. I'm not sure which would look better - I'm definitely open to suggestions!!
It would be set with this band:

And it would have a halo of diamonds around it, like this ring:

And this is what my current ring looks like from the side: What I don't like about it is the fact that the halo is so low, and you can see each individual prong, as opposed to just seeing the tips of them.

I'm looking for something lightweight and dainty regarding the band as well. And I have no idea what size the diamonds in my promise ring are, but the Total carat weight of the diamonds in the halo and band is .19. There are 32 diamonds total, 20 of them being in the halo. So what carat weight does that make the diamonds in the halo? If my math is correct, would it be .19/20 = 0.0095 tcw for the halo? I'm looking for the halo in my e-ring to be the same size stones as my promise ring, but have two halos of them instead of one. I had originally thought that doing 1 halo of larger diamonds about 2mm in width would be alright, but I think it might look too bulky as opposed to two smaller halos of diamonds? What does everyone else think?
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do, or reputable vendors I can go through who would do a good job?
Thank you for your help guys! And sorry for the novel!
