Hi all,

I'm looking for a great deal on an OMC or an OEC...what are your go to sites? I've been everywhere I can think of...Grace, eBay, GoG and probably 25 other sites!

Also, I emailed David Klass on Sunday and he said he would get back with me on Monday. I've sent a couple reminders but still haven't hear back from him. Is that common?

David Klass is very busy, it seems, but he'll get back to you when he can!

Can you pm me the list of all the places you've looked? I def. don't know of 25 places to find OEC diamonds.

Also, what exactly are you looking for besides a good deal? Size? Price? Color and cut?

Thanks! Hopefully I didn't fall through the cracks!

I just google searched them and clicked on the first 8 or 9 pages of stores that sell them. :-) I also checked some of the ones (like Grace) that I saw here on PS.

I would like something in the 2-3 carat range but I'm not sure on the pricing. I was trying to stay around 7500 but I don't know if that's reasonable - probably not. I've seen some stones on here that were warmer that I really liked so I'm open on that too!

Did you look at Love Affair Diamonds too? They have a few diamonds in that size range and in warmer colours, prices are in the $9000 plus bracket, though. You could maybe have a look at the Preloved section on here plus Loupetroupe and Diamond Bistro to see if anyone's selling anything interesting.

Great suggestions - thank you!

Ebay is definitely a good idea! but you have to know what you're looking for. I would also try local stores in your area that don't specialize in old jewelry but have a consignment or an estate section. I have found that a lot of jewelry stores find lower color old cuts to be garbage ( NOT MY VIEW!! ) and will part with them for very little.

Thanks! I like them too; I love the history and wonder where they've been to since their creation!

MrsD, I'll strongly recommend that you *call* Adam at Old World Diamonds rather than make your initial inquiry via e-mail. He is not really "into" e-mail & it will be more efficient-productive to first actually speak with him. Plus, Adam is really nice & informative, so I think you will enjoy the initial chat as you begin to explore the possibilities with him :))

I think you are right that 2-3 carat won't be possible with a budget of $7,500.

Love Affair Diamonds and Jewels by Grace can source stones for you, so you may want to e-mail them directly if you aren't seeing what you want on their websites.
