Hi everyone!

I am helping my friend look at diamonds for an engagement ring and came across this one with the following specs:
Round
1.05 ct
H, Si1
I have attached the Idealscope and the diamond proportions.
What do you think of the diamond? It is $5.5K USD. Budget is around $6.5K USD for setting (Tiffany style solitaire) and diamond. He would like to stay with H color or higher and Si1 clarity and higher with the size being close to the one carat mark.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions!
Thanks in advance!

What is going on here?

Is this tilt, or something else?

I am not liking what I am seeing. The girdle is significantly painted and the black reflection might be from uneven pavilion angles that are less than 40.5.

Thanks for the feedback, seems like this isn't the one so the search continues!

The presence of dark areas under the bezel facets in ideal-scope can be attributable to a greater draw of obstruction. This usually occurs with shallow and borderline-shallow angle combinations. The plus may be improved spread. The drawback may be a greater draw of darkness in those area when the diamond is viewed up close.

Wide ranging pavilion angles with lows in that area and twisted lowers.
Take a look at the variation in the white dots at the ends of the star facets, they are all over the place.
When the diamond is not tilted that can be a sign of lowers with a lot of twist.

Thank you for these technical interpretations, it's always great to learn more about reading the images, especially when they aren't for super-ideals!

Hi again!

I have a new stone with some pictures. I realize the hearts image looks wonky and have reached out to the vendor to ask why. IMO this one looks pretty good, but I am not an expert and would love everyone's opinion!

Thanks in advance!

Forgot to upload image of the diamond, I am confirming with the vendor if it's eye clean.

Lower girdle facets of ~73% when averaged out then rounded to 75% by gia and the diamond is not centered properly in the scope.

100%.

Thank you for the replies!
What I gather from reading the previous thread is that there will be larger flashes of light from this diamond due to the shorter LGFs. I see that most super ideals are between 75 to 80%, so would this diamond be a strong performer? The price is good and it seems like the it would be a good performer (based on Idealscope and ASET), but I am uncertain if this is something that would make the diamond a pass.

Shorter lowers is a different look some will like it, some will not.
I am not a huge fan but have nothing against them either its just what my eyes/brain prefers is a stone with longer lowers or way shorter lowers.
That is just my personal preference and might not be yours.
