Hello!

I found an Etsy seller with an Art Deco era platinum sapphire and diamond band that I am very interested in purchasing. The band is listed as approximately 0.33 ctw diamond and 0.55 ctw blue French cut sapphires. I am by no means an old cut expert, but to me the sapphires look to be carre cut, not French cut... any opinions? Also, she doesn't specify the diamond cut, so I was curious if anyone can tell if the diamonds look modern or hopefully they're old European/single cut? Also, how can I trust that the band is platinum if there is no marking? Any help is much appreciated!

Can't tell much about the ring from those pictures.

Pick a good appraiser, take the ring there within your return period. They will test the metal. Test the sapphires. And test the diamonds for you. The sapphires may be lab created. It's common in rings from a certain era. He will also be able to answer all your questions.

If the ring isn't what it is listed as return it. If you don't like it, return it. If it appraises badly, return.
