Help! Did I ruin my ring.

My platinumsmith is going to file down the prongs, I don't think he'll be able to do actual claws, but at least they will be less bulky.

I'll post a pic of the redone prongs.

Thanks for liking the new design. I personally liked the boxy one, but everyone here on PS prefers the sleek look and I trust the views of PS posters - cause you're all madly obsessed with diamonds

By "file down" - did you specify what you wanted? were you able to give him a photo of the style of claw you were aiming for? I was told by the first company who made my 3 stone - no, "bulbous" was all that they could do. I had the stones reset (its the famous glue story from a few months back...) and that company made them much more tapered. I gave the a photo, told them I did NOT want any 'ball' type prongs, but more tapered and finger/claw like and they vastly improved them. However, I took apart the ring and then had it remade by BGD - who has LOVELY prong work!

Any how- see if you can fax over a photo or give him a call with a website link --- just to be SURE he gets the point! ("point" - )

Greetings from Niagara on the Lake ontario. You did not ruin your ring- you have enhaced it to better match your band. I am an emerald cut girl too. I have a 3 carat centre with a 1 carat and 3/4 carat on each side. I matched it with a 9 carat emerald cut diamond eternity band. I am OLD so don't fret, we will always be upgrading etc.
I am about to turn 65 and want to upgrade my center stone. What size is your stone - it looks huge!! DIAMOND DIVA

It's a 2.02 centre with .44 baguettes. Thanks for the kind words.
