Hi all,
Looking for opinions on this diamond. GIA 3X. Concerned that the crown angle is a little low and the star length? How will this effect the diamond? Wont sparkle as much? It’s eye clean and looked very bright, clear and.whiteif that makes.sense. it is for a custom halo ring. We have seen it in person and have put a deposit on it. Unfortunately we did not see it thru an idealscope becuase I wasn't as well educated as I thought apparently! We looked at it thru the microscope and with our naked eye, it is eye clean .

Depth 61.9

Table 56

Crown.angle 33

Crown height 14

Pavilion angle 41

Pavilion depth 43.5

Star length 45

Lower half 80

Cutlet none

Griddle. Slightly thicK, faceted 4.5%

No florescene, G colour

Thanks for your help

The lower crown angle will give a slightly flatter appearance from the side and performance wise, wouldn't be as fiery and compared to a stone that has a CA of 34.5+ but that doesn't mean this stone couldn't be beautiful especially because it has a nice smaller table. Could the vendor provide you with an IS or ASET? Any pics or video of the stone? GIA rounds the lower halves to either 75 or 80 and seeing at least an image of the stone be more informative - closer to 80 will have skinnier arrows and will give off more pinpoint sparkle, fatter arrows would give slightly more contrast and broader flashes of light.

Unfortunately I have no pictures or videos of the stone. I could ask for a IS or ASET image. I feel like I have bugged them alot not sure if it's buyers remorse or just nerves as Im not a professional on diamond selection! I should have asked for this b4 we put the deposit down. Gahh

You are spending thousands of your hard earned dollars, inconveniencing them a bit to send you a photo is a very minor ask. How ever if you have already bought the stone and paid for it then there isn't much point, just enjoy it now!

We are getting a custom ring and just put a deposit down on the diamond. I'm sure if it's a bad choice we can get another one. The jeweler said if we don't like anything he can change it. So that's why I'm kinda asking now. I know a little late :s

It definitely doesn't hurt to ask!

I did ask for a IS or ASET image, just waiting for a reply now. It truly did seem like a good diamond but after finding out about the crown angle and star length I wasn't sure if it really was. It will be my forever ring so I want it to be as beautiful as possible :)
